I really don't understand SWAT sometimes. I mean they had that many armed officers surrounding the hospital and inside the hospital. They could have easily taken a man with a pistol down without having to shoot him. It's the SWAT officer's duty to stop a threat to life, which he has done brilliantly here. If he just injures him, the gunman could fall but still manage to get the gun and then shoot someone. No chances.

It was his child and she had no right to give up his child without his consent. Whatever happened after she was admitted to the hospital was a direct consequence (albeit messed up) of her making a decision about THEIR child that she had no right to. If she didn’t want the baby that’s fine but she doesn’t get to take away his choice to be a father, if he wanted to take the baby because she didn’t want it that would’ve been his decision. You can’t takeaway someone’s parental status because they acted a fool. It was always his child, they were about to take part in an illegal adoption, because despite what you believe both parents have to consent and the father wasn’t consenting. Just to be clear I’m not excusing his bad behavior just pointing out all the lies and deceptions brought it to this point.

See Sharon what I love about this character is that she's a caring person. By looking at this idiot teenage boy. She's thinking about all the desperate people she's come across in her career but she's also thinking about her children. People like him grow up in a very tough environment and I feel like Miss Goodwin actually took pity for him. Of course he blew it all away by simply taking people hostage at gunpoint. Thinking he can escape without even realizing that law enforcement has pretty much surrounded the whole hospital so the chances of escaping is not possible. Yeah he was a complete incompetent psycho dimwit that didn't even think this through.

The underage girl was having a baby and was going to give it up for adoption. David found out and came into the hospital with a gun. He shot a doctor, security guard, and the girl's father who was trying to protect her and the baby. SWAT team sent Goodwin to get the girl medical supplies for the girl because of complications with the baby. Apparently SWAT used Goodwin to help lure David into a trap so they could take him out.

The girl came in with her dad and the woman who was gonna adopt her baby. She had the baby and the baby's dad soon came in as well. The baby's dad got outraged when he found out his baby was being put up for adoption and left. When he came back a second time he had a gun and basically took the whole hospital hostage. He had shot a few other people and this is the last few minutes of the episode.

Exactly! It seems to be something they always do on American shows... I would say I hope they're not as unnecessarily ruthless in real life, but considering what I know of the US culture and the statistics of citizens being shot by police over there doesn't fill me full of hope... 😔

The chest is a much larger target, meaning fewer chances of missing and injuring an innocent. It is also more likely to incapacitate the shooter (for obvious reasons). If they did manage to hit the hand (which is also more likely to move around more than somebody's chest) it would be less likely that the threat would be minimised.

BEcause it's not easy to get a clear shot. Hands are small and they move a lot and if you miss it will escalate the situation

If you where any of the Doctors, Nurses, or Patients in that situation would you want a sniper to waste a shot shooting at a hand, a hand of a deranged kid who has made multiple upon multiple death threats to everyone in the vicinity? Likely not, you would want the Police to do everything in their power to protect you and everyone else in danger. Think before you ask dumbass questions.

The girl was having a baby and was going to give it up for adoption. The father found out and came into the hospital with a gun. He shot a doctor, security guard, and the girl's father who was trying to protect her and the baby. SWAT team sent Goodwin to get the girl medical supplies for the girl because of complications with the baby. Apparently SWAT used Goodwin to help lure David into a trap so they could take him out.

Gamma Raygun Teenage girl planned to give her baby up for adoption, and the boyfriend found out. Later, he returned with a gun. The girl's father tried to get the gun, but the boyfriend shot him, and then a security guard. No one was allowed in or out, per gunman's order. He made an exception for Sharon because she had spoken with him earlier in the episode effort to smooth things over, and she was the only one he trusted. She was the one to bring in medical supplies. SWAT told her to get the gunman into to a certain position where they took could take a clean shot. She was unsure, but in the end, as seen above, she kept walking backwards with the baby to get the gunman where SWAT wanted him. She didn't want him to die, which is why she was saying "Stay with me."

Its called a tactical team for a reason . The sniper is just one part the others are trained to breach the room in this case breaching wasn't an option given by the writers. Police are trained to shoot center of body mass to stop . You take a agitated shooter and wound him in the hand how many does he proceed to kill
