Another advantage to acid wrapped guided is not getting the line hung up in the guides on top of the rod from the jigging action. The “power” of the rod is for lure weight, which is to be matched with water depth, not fish size or species. What water depths did you fish in and what jug weights did you use? Nice video, thanks.

Are those rods made in Japan?
@GulfCoastNation4 жыл бұрын
Yes they are made in Japan
@Tokyo_Titus4 жыл бұрын
Goofish are NOT made in Japan. They are manufactured in China. They claim to use Japanese technology. However, this is older spiral technology, but placed ontop of a solid graphite blank. This combination gives it the unusual strength, compared to a high grade x-wrapped style that Shimano uses. These are stronger, but not as sensitive and slightly heavier due to the solid blank. However, the weight difference is minimal. Just note, they are NOT made in Japan. I live in Japan and they are not made here. They are a decent value though. I own a Goofish Black.
@pr_island_jigging3604 жыл бұрын
Can those rods be use has a regular bait casting?
@GulfCoastNation4 жыл бұрын
They can be. But that action is very slow (parabolic) so it might not be as easy to cast. We have used them in a pinch when we are in a school of Bonito needing something to throw fast. Not the best option, but it will work! They have a spining rod version of the slow pitch that might be good for really light jigs!
@pr_island_jigging3604 жыл бұрын
I do rock fishing and would like something similar that can cast heavy jigs and don’t break..I don’t se any vid casting jigs with this rods always see videos that use that type of rod in a boat or kayak, I don't want to buy one and that in making the cast it breaks

@@GulfCoastNation Well, you're right in saying that there are different ways to work the rod/jig, but there aren't unlimited ways. If you watch almost any slow pitch jigging video that was filmed in Japan, they show the right ways to move the rod and the jig. Also, my thinking is that if you buy a rod and reel, you should use it properly (the way it was intended for) and use the proper techniques associated with it.
