I wasn't able to make it work until I followed the steps. It's weird that you MUST run the preview for GTM to identify and hook the tag. I'd expect that to be a mandatory step in a funnel more than a preview side button. Thanks for the help

Skipping the Tag Manager setup really ruins this for me because I needed to know if I'm still adding the codes they immediately give me in addition to the tags.

If you’re referring to the GTM.js script, then yes you will have to implement this code in the section of every page. Then you will be able to implement the GA4 configuration tag

Hi! I wanted to ask a question related to the installation. I see that in order to install GA4 it can be done through gtag.js and through Google Tag Manager. If the installation is done through gtag.js (copying the gtag code for all the containers we want to install), we can see that in the browser window object there is the window.gtag api (the function through which we could send custom events programmatically). My question is, if the installation of GA4 has been done through Google Tag Manager, is this gtag api available in the browser? I ask this because it could be the case that I would like to receive an event from a third party script that sends events through the gtag api. If this api is not available, how could I send this event? Thank you very much in advance and thank you very much for all the content!

You can send the event through a GA4 event tag within GTM rather than leveraging the API directly
