The biggest difference is that iCloud is a sync service, whereas Drive is a backup and sync service. Being able to store things and delete them from your device while still having the option to sync specific folders across devices makes Drive superior to both iCloud and OneDrive.

You just answered about Google drive and how we can delete it off our device and I think that is awesome but I thought they were both like this so I use them both the same way except I delete it off the other one and now I can't get it back and that's what got me thinking it's been what's the point of it in the first place it doesn't do anything

iCloud is also a backup service. Unused files, folders, images, videos etc. will be automatically removed from your device and only backed up to the Cloud if you have allowed this. It’s more “smart” backup

icloud = ONLY apple. And only files. And you dont free up space when uploading to icloud. Its just syncing. Google drive = Built in word, excel, powepoint, photos, memories, files, easily shared with others regardless of what type of device the use. Excellent UI.

Google Photos will give you an option to delete photos and videos from your phone while you keep them inside google photos. If you had icloud and deleted the photos from your phone, they would be gone forever.@@StefanoTonini-mi7oe

What if your iPhone has both. I pay for an iCloud account for extra storage and now my Gmail is saying that my free Google One Drive is full. I don’t want to pay for two accounts. How can I get rid of the Google account without loosing the pictures that are stored in it?

Google is every way is better I don't care about minor few advantages icloud has over Google drive and iCloud being more optimized icloud is exclusive to Apple devices only and Google drive is accessible to every single person. Apple is the worst their service isn't accessible to anyone outside Apple users while Google and One Drive and any other services is accessible to everyone Apple should make their icloud accessible to android and windows for maybe a small fee while allowing us to share via QR code rather than being forced to air drop which works Apple to apple. I hate the limitation of apple like we should be able to communicate with everyone imagine if iPhone users can only phone call iPhone users and having to use whatsapp to call non iPhone users that's silly, we can't sms iPhone users videos via built in sms on non apple device have to have imessage. Apple ends to get rid of air drop and icloud and replace with QR code and pin for security.

@Krishnendu Laha we should have it as convenient as QR code, their is a difference between ecosystem and communications and while Apple has the best ecosystem it has terrible social kills like all device should be able to talk to each other via same network atleast, even without QR code on any android. Air drop is pure garbage when compared to quick share and stuff. I Cloud app my foot android devices have proper communication skills which apple will always be lacking

Google scans your files, photos, and videos before uploading on their servers. Apple, currently does not do this. So if you value privacy - Apple is the way to go. Up to you what you want.

It will store your Windows desktop files if you install iCloud for Windows and select certain folders to sync. As an active user I can say that it is the worst syncing cloud ever. I’ve done some work on my PC almost more than a week ago and still can’t see them in my iPhone iCloud. Avoid!

⁠​⁠@@watchmanexpertin terms of storage yes you can. Just make sure you store your phone data to any pc/Mac via USB then transfer everything to your iCloud drive. I guess you can even treat your s24 as SSD once you plug USB C to C cable with iPhone (15 series only) and transfer directly from there to your iCloud inside iPhone (Files app)

But u can use Google drive on I device, apples service aren't good it's only apple to apple even for basic thing like sending video u have to rely on whatsapp non apple users can't sms I users video and vise versa, stuff like air drop being limited to apple and Android having the opition of QR code meaning u can share to any users and being able to install Google and Microsoft apps on any device while Apple limiting their services to I device only. We shall be able to communicate with everyone, imagine in the future if iPhones have to rely on whatsapp to make phone calls to non I users apple is stupid they can be eco system friendly and still open their sources to non apple users and be able to communicate with everyone because not everyone has a apple major use android, having yo reply on social media isn't always convinent has its 3rd party.
