Omg yea lol, I just finished a video about Google home easter eggs and I had to cut out every "okay" before google in order to make it viewable, and also to keep it from setting off my own google assistants! Both my phone and my home mini were going off while I was recording and editing 🤣😂 eventually I silenced them. I'd love for Google home, Amazon's echo and other products like this to be able to ask for medical assistance (like dial 911 or something) remotely. That way if my grandmother fell or something she'd be able to ask for help without having to drag herself to a phone for example, or having to wait for someone to realise she's had an accident.

They could fix the account issue by just adding custom wake-up phrases. Each person that lives in the house gets to choose how they activate the assistant. That way you can know who's talking. Unless you're evil and use someone else's wake-up phrase. "Yo Google, delete all my contacts." Evil.

Very true, but then again I haven't known Google to be at the forefront of privacy. But I see you point, maybe a version 2 with a finger print sensor on the center of the top of the unit so that when dealing with private content you have to authenticate first, or use a something like a Nest Camera / Smartphone for facial recognition.

I agree. The entire device is pretty much a gimmick; just as Google Assistant is in most cases. Manually doing the commands would be a lot quicker and error free. AI still has a long way to go, very long way.

The "hey Siri" functionality has great voice tone recognition. My brother and I have very similar voices, and it would always respond to me. Soooo... yeah voice recognition is "there".

It really isn't. My brother's voice is roughly 1/3 similar to mine and it always activates it.

Maybe It depends on the way you set up the first "hey Siri" function. I did it with a natural voice, and although my brother has nearly the same voice as I do, it never recognized it. And that's with a few recognition tests. maybe google should invest in that particular area, idk do a more thorough and extensive setup.

JustPlay247 you can turn on hey Siri without training it to recognize only your voice which is probably what happened. If you go into Settings, you can train "hey Siri" to only activate when you say it with your voice

A pretty good option for an assistant but the Echo Dot plus a good speaker is overall better in my opinion, and possibly cheaper. I've tried both Google Home and the Echo, and while the Home does mainly everything well, the Echo outperforms the Home easily with voice recognition.
