Is the charging assembly PCBA really responsible for battery charging? Or is it just supplying the 5V from the charger thru the flex to the motherboard, which is in fact responsible for the charging? There are additional "data" pins on the battery, which I suppose are also used during charging to report battery temperature etc., but these pins are not directly connected to the flex connector. So I think that the motherboard is responsible for charging. My phone is not charging, but i can measure the 5V from the USB on the motherboard connector at the end of the flex. Will it help to change the charging assembly?

wish i saw this earlier. not only did I crack the inner screen while trying to replace the battery but also chipped off one of the resistors next to the display cable port

Great video, but an important question - As asked previously, what glue do you use when adhering the screen to the frame during reassembly? Or do you just put it together with the old glue? Reheat the old glue before reassembly?

Gnexus pixel2 now dead for a year because of the issues in charging plate and it's hard to find related chargin plate around here. With due respect,sir where do I get those plate asap. Thank you.

I wish I could see just a little better but I really like this video. I don't have any experience soldering but I'm going to attempt this. I'm confident I can get the screen off without breaking it. What do you use as screen adhesive?

Do you guys who make these videos just skip the stuff that's really hard to do? When you removed the midframe, you completely skipped the proximity sensor ribbon cable that is at the top center of the phone.. Actually when you took off the frame, it probably unplugged just by yanking on the flex cable. I cannot get this damn thing plugged in - the cable flexes to the side and not the top so it is REALLY HARD to align and plug in. I wish I could see ANY video on YT that addresses it at all. I don't think you plugged it in at all in this repair. How many have you given back to people with a disconnected proximity sensor?

I figured it out. I took it off the midframe, plugged it in, then there is a slot the sensor fits through to put it back. I will use a small piece of double side tape to put it back on the midframe because it felt like it was lightly glued.

I had my charge port replaced twice. I am still getting a battery icon with a lightning bolt that flashes. When I turn on phone it says unplug charger there is a problem charging. Any ideas?

If your phone is a Pixel 2 like this one, it should be repaired by a Google-authorized shop like Ubreakifix. Why did the port need to be replaced twice? You drop it a lot with the cable plugged in?
