Database is super cool idea! Open Measurement Database, that is something that whole repair industry will participate!
@AntonioWengratt3 жыл бұрын
I'm freaking out with that database idea. Not just good measurements, but I bit, like imagine if we can also upload our wrong measurements and what fixed the problem. That's gonna be awesome and really fast to repair devices.
@the_socompsp3 жыл бұрын
Something like that already exists people just need to add data to it. It’s called logwiki. Also ZXW has diode mode measurements viewable on the board view files.

I'm definitely going to get one of these boards. But the only thing that may throw us repair people off is that these values may change slightly when small hardware revisions are made that we are not aware of at the time. So perhaps marking down mfg dates of these units is also a good idea.

Question for the electronic engineers. Is there a way that the process of taking resistance of each pin one at a time can be implemented into a chip that does resistance for all pins at the same time and output data to say a computer via usb? Is there a chip that exists that can do that?

02:55 this is an example what i have asked for "wifi chip controll measuring " İn the privious video . idea is that: Does it work if you meausure the capasitors which they are around the good working wifi chip and take notes and then After if you get a another tablet which has wifi problem ,you may be able to compare the condansator's values to see if the wifi chip good or bad? (İ am mentioning abot the chip which has no signifuture on it as a burned or etc) 17:49 for iphones, there is a database software to see the pin measuring

We can go a step ahead and have an Arduino make the readings with a little LCD that let us select the device and tell us if there is a "out of normal" reading, just by connecting the device. As a matter of fact I will build it, write the program and send it to you and tell me if it works in a "production environment"

Very Nice 👍. Perhaps of interest to you, NF, might be an HP SIGNATURE ANALYZER. This is an obsolete, PCB troubleshooting tool, the readings from which were included in service manuals by big boys like Hewlett-Packard, Tektronix and the Military. Today, it is still a great tool for comparing identical PCB's. Just like your new port testers, you must establish reference readings from a working device. You may recognize this device from early in your career. They're still available on eBay. Cheers.

18:20 You mentioned maybe having a database of readings for diagnostic purposes just then, what about perhaps having a simple diagnostic app developed whereby you could select your device and do things like select symptoms/enter information like readings etc for it to return a list of possible causes? If you're having a database developed anyway, all you'd need is the app frontend and that's a relatively simple task? Hell, you could even charge a couple dollars for the app if it's a public app to help pay for the costs of running the backend stuff unless you're gonna host it yourself. Enough people wanna use the app, assuming you're making a public app, and it could be pretty profitable as there's absolutely nothing like that available on any mobile platform. None of that matters if it's for your store use

If such a device is not already available, and If those measurements over several Devices prove to always point to the correct fault, then those test points "Data or readings" gleaned from several broken devices can be used for a "comparative microcontroller", so with the "comparator microcontroller" you can plug a broken device into it, and as the broken devices readings match previously identified faults, your tester will display the matched fault.. APU I dropped a Like.. Err- 👍
