Anyway, they are going to make an update about that, and in the French version it was specified in the notice that someone that keep the phone in front of you when you open the eyes can unlock the phone, so it was supposed to be like that.

Firstly, great video. Love your content. I'm a Razer phone user and love the 120hz refresh, sound and battery life on my phone. I just wish it had a better camera (video and pictures) and a brighter display when outside. I thought the Pixel 4 XL would be a solid upgrade but I'm now doubting whether or not it is. I got a Pixel 3 XL last year and love it, but I'm glad I got that instead of waiting for the 4. It's not bad, but overall I think the Pixel 3 was better for what I needed. Excited to see what they do with the 5 since that's when I'll possibly upgrade.

Every review is missing the main use case for the swipe gestures: Using it while driving! What a godsend to not have to move focus from the road and simply use hand gestures to interact! (albeit its in its infancy right now)

Exactly. It annoys me when people only look at specs, and totally forget that technology is both hardware AND software. Google has a lot of flawas in phone manufacturing, but one thing is for sure, they are incredible when it comes to optimise their hardware through software. And that makes a huge difference in battery life. Allowing the phone to cleverly avoid wasting energy when not necessary (the 90Hz display dropping to 60Hz is just a small example) is peak Google. The battery life won't out of this world (still only 2800 MAh) but it will hold against its competitors in the low 3000s due to that. The fact that, after 3 generations of Pixel phones, there are so many KZbinrs who still don't get this is so strange. Not an Apple fan (don't like the interface), but it's the same thing with iPhone. iPhones have had in many areas lower specs than Android flagships in the last few years. And yet they performed just as well. Because their software is properly optimised to take advantage of their full hardware. Google is not a hardware giant. They're in the software game, and people need to realise that to make a fair judgement.

All I have to say so far from what I'm seeing, at least most of these issues could theoretically be resolved with a software update. I'm hoping Google rolls out a HUGE software update with a promotion! 1.) Better battery optimization of not only slightly 2.) Fix the face unlock loophole 3.) Add 4k 60 FPS if possible 4.) Re-establish the Google Photos unlimited storage deal 5.) Add some cool motion sense features and add patches. (Something to turn your phone on do not disturb easily or prompt your phone to take a pic from further away hands free would be nice. ) 6.) It would also be once if they could add some security feature using motion sense somehow but it'd have to work in tadem with the camera I guess. Maybe later. The lack of an ultra wide camera would likely be it's only miss and that's tolerable.

1. Don't expect much from battery optimisations. Google's promised software optimisation updates did not deliver what they promised on the previous-gen Pixel phones. 3. 4k 60FPS can't be added in by software. It's hardware supports 4k 30FPS max, so that's what it can do, nothing more than that. 4. Ha, that definitely isn't happening! Overall, don't get your hopes up. As Google's latest phones have been more and more disappointing with every release. After the Pixel 2, it just started going downhill from there. Currently, I'm hoping for the Pixel 4a do have at least some DUST & WATER RESISTANCE unlike the 3a. But, knowing Google, *they're** going to fuck up the 4a.

If reviewers are fine with the 7t's battery, I don't see why we should be worried about the 4xl.. it's give & take similar capacity plus has a more efficient 855 processor compared to the 855+ and has advanced battery saving software baked in. My guess is the battery will only get better with a few OTA updates. The mass outrage in the community IMO is more of a misdirected one, the smaller Pixel getting a small battery negativity is bleeding into their early impressions of the bigger device. The vibe just doesn't seem right.

7:03 - Well, you just proved that you can just step back a bit. If you're standing on a bridge, on the other hand, you can't get closer to a subject without jumping. That said, I would also miss an ultrawide camera, but not in a setting where I could actually just step back a bit. The Super res zoom works because of the optical zoom. It is a hybrid of digital and optical. I would rather zoom 5x than not have to take a couple steps back to get the full picture. Great video!

I really enjoy these _Real Day In The Life_ videos. 0:31 UrAvgCookie !! I have to say that overall, the Pixel 4 XL looks great. I like how it's a smartphone that is made by Google and uses Google made OS. I agree that having a slightly thicker top bezel is better than having a notch. I prefer the symmetrical look more. 2:26 Of course you need to have _Gundam_ in your kitchen. 💯 That radar feature is pretty cool. Motion Sense I think will be used more and more as time goes on. I think it's cool you can record voice and videos like that and it transcribes it on the fly. 10:10 Package from Xbox. I am impressed with the photo and video quality. That 90 Hz display must be nice. It's too bad iPhone doesn't have that still. 13:33 That is cool how the Pokemon wallpaper also changes with the weather. That battery life is great. Overall, I think this is a great phone. They could work on the brightness issue and maybe tweak video & photo capabilities. Personally I get an iPhone every 3 or so years. I'm still on the iPhone 7+ so the next iPhone I'm getting is the 2020 models, which apparently will be a big evolutionary type of upgrade as opposed to the last few being more like refinements.

I have the Just Black Pixel 4 XL and it's been 3 weeks of use...... Worth the ticket price for admission👌.... The experience has been great so far. The phone feels like a daily side kick vs. a device. So many real life applications that other phones/devices just simply don't deliver on.
