Google isn’t trying to make money from selling you a phone, they’re trying to make money from collecting your data and selling ads. This is why Google created Android and is why it’s open source, they want to get their software in as many hands as possible. This is why they can sell you a phone for $600. Me personally I rather spend $1,000 to be as free as I can from having every single thing I do tracked and sold.

@CherlynnLow3 жыл бұрын
I gotta say, those things are hit or miss for sure re eraser. In some cases the eraser didn't work at all lol. Over time I've found that when Google detects and suggests things to erase, it's MUCH better at replacing the background. If you're erasing something yourself by drawing over something, that's when the replaced backgrounds can be iffy. As for saturation and face unblur and other things... I spoke with some reviewers before the embargo lifted and it looks like some people had older software and weren't even seeing Motion Mode features. It *could* be a software update issue, or it could just be that we have different experiences and opinions. I wish I had more time in this video to go deeper into every little thing but with the Pixel 6 (and anything software-heavy) there tends to be so much to cover, and so much can change with an OTA update. It makes reviewing anything extra difficult. But I hope you at least got some good info out of this!

08:00 Speaking about Translation, obviously Google uses English as an intermediate translation language. That is, if I want to translate French to Japanese, it seems that Google Translate does not directly translate French into Japanese, but like French -> English -> Japanese. The reason why I think so is that once I translated a French phrase that contained the French verb "rock" as in "rocking the boat". In English, that verb rock happens to have the same spelling as the noun rock (stone), but in French, the verb was completely different from the French word for rock (stone). The Japanese translation of that French was showing rock (stone). Interestingly, Google Translate seems to translate Korean to Japanese directly. That is, when the Korean to English translation was completely wrong, it showed the correct Japanese translation.
@typingcat3 жыл бұрын
@UCqyVS7HilMqCIx-Ddjbp-Sg I don't get it. If they use a language-agnostic representation, how did the system get the concept of rock (stone) from the French verb "bercer" (to cradle; to rock), which has no connection whatsoever with the French noun "roche" (rock)? The "rock" (verb) and the "rock" (noun) look the same, but conceptually they are completely different. Even their part-of-speech is different.

I switched from a Pixel 2 XL to a OnePlus 7T because at launch it was $300 cheaper while keeping the features I wanted in a flagship (ex: top-notch processor, large 90 Hz display, great UI) while making compromises I could live with (ex: mediocre camera), making the 7T a great "flagship killer." Now I plan to switch back to Pixel 6 for a similar reason: flagship-level quality with some compromises (smaller 90 Hz display vs. larger 120 Hz display, lower optical zoom) at a value-friendly $600 price point. With OnePlus evolving its main line from "flagship killer" into a legitimate flagship, it's fascinating to see Google turn around with a "flagship killer" of its own in the Pixel 6.

I'm so sorry but you are wrong about the photos as well. Pixel is outdoing the iPhone in photos

You also lose UWB on the standard Pixel 6. Perhaps not a big deal but is a difference.

Kinda concerned about the fingerprint sensor tbh.

You just have to save multiple fingerprints and put phone to display always on. Or atleast thats what i seen on other videos

I'm confused, other reviewers are saying the battery is pretty terrible on the new Pixels

@ 6:36 have you ever thought from where does Google get such type of data??

just casually leaves out the fact that the more expensive phone has a 1440p screen over 1080

A pretty big non issue on a screen size that small. This stuff is noticeable on computer screens but such a high resolution on a phone screen is useless.

This was the most complete review of seen yet for the pixel 6. But it still didn't give any clue as to how good it is for listening to music through wired or wireless headphones. It's as if people don't listen to music on their phones anymore, which I know for a fact they do. Put it this way. More people will listen to music on their phones today than will try to use motion blur camera effects. Starting to think that Google told the reviewers not to look at this at all.

If this is a review....then it's a big oof. This sounds more like a first impressions video, especially with some very misleading things being said about some of the pretty important aspects of the phone, like the fingerprint sensor comparison for one.

Agreed. Specs rundown and basic features impressions.

It's definitely not a long term review. But for stuff like that to be picked up so quickly, it already says a lot. For what it is, the reviewer is coming as someone who's used to using a in-display FP reader, rather than someone who's new to it.

It's a review that came out before anyone else had done anything other than an unboxing and a first impressions take. It's somewhere between the latter and a full review. So there's that. Good on you for getting it out there before most anyone else.

Avoid reading the NY Times review then.. it will infuriate you.

I'm upgrading from a Pixel 2. I'm debating the Pixel 6 vs switching back to an iPhone (been on Android since Nexus 6p). The fingerprint reader on the Pixel 6 might be the deal breaker for me. I love the Pixel 2 reader on the back, and given that's no longer an option, going back to iOS might be a better tradeoff compared to a 2 step/only works half the time Pixel 6 fingerprint reader.

Heads up. iPhone is only face unlock. No Touch ID
@maximum90653 жыл бұрын
@@hhhmmmmmmmm I'm aware. The only fingerprint placement that I like is back of phone. I'd rather have Apple's face unlock over an under screen thumb unlock that is not always response according to reviews. Hopefully it gets improved with software updates.

She'a wrong about it being a 2 step process. All you have to do is toggle the 'Always on' button in settings and you unlock the Pixel 6/6 pro with one touch of your finger/thumb. Also, I've had no issues whatsoever with the fingerprint reader, it's worked first time, every time I've used it.
