The Pixel 7 Pro, the larger of Google’s two Pixel Android phones for 2022, might not look much different from the Pixel 6 Pro, but Google seems to have addressed its predecessor’s shortcomings. The smartphone has 5G and is available unlocked and through some carriers. It has a brighter 6.7” 120Hz QHD+ OLED display, the new Tensor G2 processor with revised cooling, triple rear cameras with improved video recording and a 5,000 mAh battery. I was a bit skeptical about the speaker claims. Thankfully I work at a Bell store so I compared the two demo models… holy moly, I was not expecting that. When did iPhone speakers become so good? It DOES sound better than my old laptop.

I'm giving Google one more chance. I purchased the 6 pro after I had the 4XL and the Pixel 2 The 6 Pro was by far the worst phone I have ever owned. Hardly anything worked on it. And Google did not stand by their warranty when I needed them to. I ordered a new 7 pro today, and if this Google phone is not up to snuff I will be switching to iPhone. I hate to do it, because I do believe Google is state-of-the-art and offers so much bang for the buck and does things that iPhone simply cannot do. For example, sending a delayed text! Try doing that on an iPhone! So Google, here's your chance you better deliver! Or it's not just going to be me who gives up on you, but I think I speak for millions of other customers

Just switched from S21 ultra to Pixel 7 pro and i absolutely love it! Interface looks and feel soooo clean. All Google services integrated with the OS make it work like a charm.

Seriously. I've seen all of these pixel reviews no one has mentioned the weaker antenna... I was considering this phone but I spend a lot of time deep inside hospitals and reception is quite poor. It's vital I have signal. This makes this phone a non-starter. Best review I've seen.

Hopefully Google doesn't bin the idea of making high quality hardware... Like they always do. Just so I'm clear. I have a very specific use case so while it won't work for what I need it probably will for most people. The main point is no other reviewer covers details like this which really makes all the difference for people with edge cases like me.

For those wondering the 6 pro cases will still fit the button are off though but you could use it in the meantime. The screen protectors fit the same. I have a 6 pro and bought a 7 pro and used the screen protector from my 6 pro and it fit perfect

I have the plain ole P6 and it has gotten much better over time. I've been getting around 6 hours of screen on time after the last update. I will see what the 8 brings to the table next year. Great review as always!

Good job Lisa on your review. I like watching your reviews. I will say that owning a pixel 7 pro you did skip over. Basically, what makes a pixel or Pixel and it's all the exclusive software features. This phone's photo I'm blur is amazing. I took a picture yesterday with a different phone and then I send it to my seven pro. It was pictures of the movie ticket that we went to see yesterday which was Black. Adam and the picture was at dark and it was a little blurry but the photo I'm blurred cleared everything up. Amazing how it is able to do that. That would take hours with Photoshop and I don't even know if you'd be able to get such a good unblur with Photoshop. But anyways you know they still have the best car screening. It is the smartest smartphone that you can buy. The auto voice dictation is amazing. The car recorder I recorded a whole entire hour of a meeting at work. The phone was in my pocket and everything was caught on that recording and transcribed in real time, which is insane that this phone is able to do such a good job when it comes to AI. There's a lot of little AI features which are important because that's what makes this phone different from the rest. Yeah, they don't have the most powerful processor or on benchmarks or any of that. But I feel like when people review a pixel they continue to review a pixel just like any other phone and they not emphasizing on what makes a pixel different which is all of it's exclusive features and there's a lot of them. The hold my call, the direct my call. Those are all really good features that I feel like I've noticed that when people review the pixel phones, they don't review the phones in a different in a different category because the pixel isn't its own entire category. There's no other phone on the planet that is as smart as the pixel phones. The seven pro of course being the smartest so the fact that you can add subtitles to any video. There's so many exclusive features and they work very well. The fact that now they added where if you send a voice recording through text message, you can just transcribe it and you can read it. You don't even have to listen to that voice message. There's a lot of little things that I feel like people need to realize about the pixels so that they're missing out on.

My 7 pro has been a bucket of pain. Connectivity issues, janky software loops.......the screen is beautiful and the camera is great but it's a rough ride. Get ready to toggle airplane mode off and on every 5 minutes.

Had the phone for 7 days and returned it. It's camera is quite good and the screen is an improvement. But it's still buggy, like the 6th generation. Had issues with airplane mode, flashlight and wifi off randomly occurring. Google help ranged from okay (but worthless in terms of these issues) to poor (first and only recommendation: factory reset your phone). Samsung doesn't have these problems. iPhone doesn't have these problems. It's the little things that ruin an otherwise very good phone. Hint: it's not a good phone if the user gets frustrated at random glitching.

well my first time using pixel 7 pro. Absolute delight of an OS with ultra smooth touch response and navigation. But, battery does drain fast even on bedtime and DND on like 15% in a night. and yes it heats if you increase the brightness and keep using wireless network instead of wifi. and occasional stutter of swiping.and mainly if you use camera something like triggers it somewhere and you keep draining your battery more.

Nothing (in my opinion) beats the Pixel for pure software experience. I switched to the P4 for a few weeks and hands down preferred the software experience of stock Android to iOS. Why’d I switch back? Battery life and hardware, far superior on the iPhone. If Google ever figures out a way to match the iPhone for hardware (speakers, battery life, biometric recognition, build quality on Pro devices) they’ll rule the market. But, it’s Google. They’re as likely to discontinue the effort as to really try.

The more reviews I see, the more I’m convinced of going back to Android. Went from a great Huawei P10 to an iPhone 11. It used to work OK, but all my expectations were not met (maybe I should have gone to a Pro model), in terms of photography & video, I lose connectivity a lot (having to go back and forth with airplane mode), resetting de phone… not worth it. I think I’ll get Pixel 7 Pro, price is excellent for a Pro model, camera seems fine, video as well, I love the interface… Thanks Lisa for your review.

i don't know what your ears are hearing Lisa, but I have an iphone 11 pro max, and no the best sound I have heard comes from the Pixel 3 family, and even Pixel 4, Apple just does not sound like a laptop speakers, I have had the Asus flip. presently, 2020 Dell xps with very nice speakers, full and rich, so no apple does not do a measurably better job according to my ears.

Too bad most new phones don't have a 3.5mm audio jack. I'll just keep buying older phones that do have a 3.5mm jack. I use Bluetooth all day long, then switch to wired at bedtime. There is no way wireless headsets are the right choice for bed use.

Great review. Have the older pixel 6 pro. It's not perfect but a good phone. Seems like the 7 pro is an incremental upgrade. My 6 pro didn't seem to have any issues with the fingerprint. Although the reception is not best. Can't wait to see what the 8 pro is.

I'm having signal problems with my new Pixel 7 pro. I'm loosing carrier signal all the time. Also Camera app crashes randomly and got heated without heavy use. Even I love the pixel. Some issues has to be addressed.

I'm not buying another pixel until they fix battery life. I bought a Pixel 6 after Google said they fixed battery drain through patches. The Pixel 7 is actually slightly smaller in battery. I've had an iPhones that end 40/30% by the time I hit bed and this "fixed" Pixel 6 just straight up dies around 6 PM. I'm not surprised people are facing the same issue of shorter than average batteries. Hell of you're a fanboy in denial there are side by side battery tests now.

Man, I wanted to like the 6 pro. But I have the worst reception on a phone that I've ever had. It just crushes my battery from constantly searching for a signal in some areas. It's starting to drop wifi signal occasionally, too.

I'm in Alberta Canada and cell service is mediocre and like "swiss cheese" in my opinion. cell phones are expensive and so are plans...I'd be wild if I bought a pixel 6/pro and there were radio and reception issues. for the price of phones that's really unacceptable imo
