Interesting to see subtle variations, and on occasion the P7 do better (maybe). @3:06 the 100% crop on the main leaf looks better, but then looking closer it appears the P7P focused in on the smaller leaf in front. In practice, I take several pictures of the same subject, as the cameras focus can/will shift.

Thanks for your video and for the effort you put in! I've been looking for photo comparisons between the two. It looks like the images from the P7P are slightly warmer and have less contrast/shadows than the Pixel 7 - is that how it felt/looked to you? I just got the 7 but I'm finding the image processing produces images that look a bit too harsh in indoor images (shadows look darker, the contrast is high between dark and light colours, and it leans to a cooler temperature). I'm coming from a 3XL and would be using one of these for my everyday phone & camera, and the camera quality is really important to me.

The main lens on both are pretty much identical, even when you zoomed to 7x digital, the 7 did great in good light!

Trying to choose between the 7 and 7 Pro. Social media is my job, so I need a really good phone. That said, I very rarely post pictures, so the telephoto lens and macro mode aren't that important for me. The most important feature to me is video quality. Phone size matters too though. This comparison was awesome, because I did not realize the telephoto lens was used for video as well as pictures. Most online reviews don't cover video quality nearly enough, especially the big tech websites. Strange considering how prevalent short form video content is now. That zoom feature is actually pretty useful, as I take zoomed shots a lot, and I do need the extra field of view for a lot of closer automotive shots. That makes my decision tougher. I also didn't even think about the audio being different, but that's possibly just as important as the video quality. Overall the Pixel 7 video actually looked slightly brighter and crisper to me for some reason, that is until you zoom at all, then the Pro clearly outshines it. The audio is pretty close. Seems the 7 may shine indoors while the Pro is a bit better outside. Sort of a wash without lots of testing. Also strange the 7 seems to have very slightly better stabilization to me when moving slowly, but the Pro seems a bit better with fast movement. The cinematic mode overall doesn't matter to me as I doubt I would ever use it. Cameras so similar but with tiny differences to my eye! Front cameras looked identical. 7 a little brighter. At least that makes the decision a little easier. Argh! I wish there was a super clear winner in audio or general video so spending or saving the extra money would be an easy choice, hahaha. I suppose a Pro will trade in for more in the future too? For some reason the Pro seems a bit better with the speech enhancement feature too. Something I might use, except it seems to add a bit of a robotic buzz which I can't tolerate. Again hard without lots of testing myself. At least neither sucks, but the final comparison, Pro seems better. Low light and night sight, once again similar. Low light video close and if there was a big difference there it would make my choice easy. Stabilization strangely a bit better on the 7 in low light. I expected them to be similar, but the tiny differences do make this a difficult call! Anyways, just sharing my thoughts as I watch. Definitely the best comparison of the cameras between the two on the internet I'd say. Really appreciate it! Overall, the audio and zoom MIGHT push me towards the Pro with the $150 off for Black Friday. Tough call. I'll own it for at least 2-3 years.

I feel like your 7 has so many more features than mine? Likely I just wasnt aware of them. When I take a night sight photo I have to balance a little circle within a ring. But I'm not aware of the digital mode you used to shoot the turtle or how to get 60 fps. There's several other functions I wasn't aware of. Great video !

@@sushantasaren7120 the digital zoom ain't that bad, tbh, as for portraits, usually they are quite impressive, although, doesn't blur the background properly sometimes, also I think it's better for shooting males rather than females, because of the over processing, but overall quality is quite good. I rarely comment on YT videos, but hands down, this is by far THE BEST camera comparison video that I have seen! I have been debating over getting the 7 vs 7 Pro, and honestly, I dont see myself doing a lot of telephoto lens shots, since that rarely happens in my daily life, so easy choice for me is the Pixel 7 and may even be getting the 256GB option for peace of mind, since 128GB these days kinda struggle in a couple of years. My takeaway is that the Piixel 7 Pro's digital zoom is better. 3:40 in the video clearly shows this. Also, the optical zoom on the Pixel 7 pro is better than the DIGITAL zoom of the Pixel 7 (as to be expected). The question I have is the same type of comparison but the Pixel 7 vs the older Pixel camera found on something like the Pixel 6a. The 6a gets bad when doing any zooming. I'm wondering if the Pixel 7 shines over that, enough to be worth it.

For cameras I'd go Pixel 7. Both have 50MP main cameras, but the Pixel uses the larger GN1 sensor which produces better results to me. The IMX766 on the Xiaomi 12 is solid but not quite as good.

I rarely use the wide lens. The main is pretty wide to begin with. Most of the time I use the 2x zoom. But... Man but the telephoto... I'd pay even more just for it. I like it a lot. I usually shoot landscapes etc so ya, it's more than worth it. Especially since even at 20x things still look good enough.

All of the pictures by both cameras were good. More than acceptable. None were poor. Only way to tell one was better was to have a side by side comparison. What I found odd was most of the pictures were different between the two cameras, 7 and Pro. But some of the lenses on the two cameras are identical. So why were the pictures different? Overall it seemed the Pro took better pictures. And the Pro had better audio too. But the 7 was good too. IF you are doing a LOT of picture and video taking with your phone, then the Pro is worth the upgrade. 300? But, if you are doing a LOT of picture and video taking, then why don't you have a real camera? $600-$1200 will get you the Sony and Canon compact zoom cameras. Or more for a DSLR with lenses. Is the extra $300 for the Pro better spent on a real camera?

Yes that's quite right, the X4 optical zoom of the Pixel 6 Pro is better than the X5 optical of the Pixel 7 Pro, I'm even disappointed with this optical zoom I miss the 6 Pro it was better, more detailed, good sharper.
