The Pixel 8 has _vastly_ better ergonomics, screen quality & software support, as well as moderately better cameras & battery life. I'm very glad I traded in the P7 towards the P8.

@@young_n._older yeah sure, but that was not a consideration for me, although implied in my reference to battery life due to better efficiency. I am a non-gamer & a non-'creator' & I haven't run a benchmark in ~a decade.

Hi there, just want to ask if the battery of small Pixel 8 is really that horrible as other users say especially in 5G mobile data? I'm planning to buy this but quite hesitant due to its battery. I'm in an unsupported country which 5G is usually disabled, so I would probably use an LTE. I'm not a gamer on mobile to add. Thank you.

@@felope7074 I am also a non-gamer and a non-'creator'-just a normal user-and the battery life has been good for me. Standby times are excellent & screen on times are very good, def better than the P7. I've gotten btwn 4.5-9 hours of SOT (6-7 hours is typical), depending on screen brightness and what else I'm doing.

​@@felope7074I have the pixel 8 and been daily driving it for about a week. The battery life for my use is fine. Coming from the iphone 15 plus of coz this is not as great but I'm sure it can at least hang with the iphone 15 or maybe slightly more

Incase yall don't know the ai software photo tools can run on the pixel 7. But google chooses not to release it for the pixel 7. To give people a reason to upgrade. I had the pixel 4 when i installed a leaked apk software that was for pixel 6 camera ai tools. And it ran perfectly.

I think the 7 years of support alone was worth getting the 8, but the better screen, faster charging, and better size/shape sold me on it.

Google Pixel should have Dex like as Samsung. Its hardware is better than Samsung but has only some useful softwares.

Great review. I appreciate that you included the length of support for each phone as this is the deciding factor for me. I keep my phones for as long as possible; I'm currently rocking a Galaxy Note 8 from 2017, and the only reason I'm looking to upgrade is because my third party apps are no longer supported on this phone. It's gonna be the Pixel 8 for me. Thanks!

that comment referred to the Tensor chips. For improvements you get a much newer screen with better visual quality, support for ultra hdr photos, a larger battery, faster charging speeds, and 7 years of updates.

​@TeamVRY I was thinking about getting the 7 series , don't wanna take the chance with the Rear camera lens shattering due to temperature change 😕 I live in Canada 🇨🇦 the weather here changes way to fast especially this winter ! Those Rear camera lens would shatter in under 1 week lol 😆 I might look into the Pixel 8 or 8a in May Or maybe Samsung S24 🤔 I just love android phones 📱 See what the best deals are also 🥳

Why? It's the same exact "phone" with a smaller display and my 7 has severe battery life drain. Never been abused or anything. I like the pixel for simplicity but this might be my last Google phone.

I have a p7 and I think it is a piece of junk. To be honest with you and last week I went to take a picture and discovered that the screen on the camera had broken and I have no clue how I did not touch it. I did not drop it. I just picked it up to use it and had a broken screen. So my experience with a p7 sucks. Take that for what you wish
