As someone from Zambia, I understand that for people living in developed countries, it might be hard to dislike the Google Pixel. But for those of us in Africa, and many other parts of the world, it's all too easy. Google just doesn’t seem to care about markets like ours. They don’t sell here, and it's clear we’re not a priority. Sure, they cater to India, but that's only because of the country’s wealthy elite-a small group that gets overlooked due to the glaring inequality. But even then, Google doesn’t have an official presence there. They just ship the parts, and the local manufacturers handle the rest. For those living in places where the Pixel ecosystem is sold, it’s easy to love it. But for us, where it isn’t even available, we’re better off importing a Chinese phone or sticking with Samsung or Apple. The frustration of being overlooked by these big companies is real.

I'm sorry for your experience. As someone who has grown up both in wealthy countries and also "poor" countries, I feel for you. In the end, it's a business decision driven by demand. I've worked in many large corporations, and management always cares only about profit. As long as a region is profitable, they will continue to serve it, but they are always ready to exclude a region if it becomes unprofitable. It's likely that Zambia is not profitable for Google, considering their small global market share. Please don't take it personally, and keep your head up.

Your reviews are truly more valuable than other tech channels for me. Most people say the regular pixel 9 is better and you don't need to spend much (what they always say) but they don't talk about things like heat dissipation, energy efficiency or the vapor chamber. For 200$/€ more it seems like you don't get much but with an extra camera and LTPO display, you get the same phone with a better ability to cool itself. Sometimes the spec sheet doesn't tell you everything. Thank you for making videos that has the users in mind Techmo, appreciate your efforts!

Thank you for comparing the 9 to the older pixels! Everyone on YT seems to be comparing it to the latest Samsung/iPhone which is cool, but logically, during a time when upgrades are minimal, I feel like most people switching to the 9 would be coming from an older Pixel rather than switching from the latest Samsung/iPhone.

According to these findings, the Pixel 8's battery efficiency has regressed compared to the Pixel 7. Therefore, any comparison of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 batteries should be viewed with the understanding that it is not a significant improvement over the three phones. However, because of the Pixel 9's 10% larger battery, this video suggests minimal improvement over the Pixel 7. The temperatures are lower on the Pixel 9, but is this due to Google's power-throttling? If not, it's likely due to the modem upgrade rather than the Tensor chip, which is still based on the underwhelming Samsung-made 4nm architecture.
@techmo20204 ай бұрын
That's a very good assessment. In general these findings are preliminary and should not be overstated, we will know for sure about the performance when we compare them head to head with S24 and iPhone 15.

Thanks for this tests. As a Pixel 6 user, I do really need a new device. Pixel 6 is... difficult. 7 and 8 just did not looked better for a lot of my issues with the 6. Fingerprint sensor... P9 should solve this. Heat, the 6 gets very hot very fast when using it, charging it. P9 is ok-ish (or the Pro at least) Modem, celluar it drains a lot more % per hour compared to any other device I've owned. In Wifi, it's on a ok-ish rate. Modem, celluar so often I have no connection or a bad one compared to other devices (nice to hear the P9 new modem seams to be fixing this) Hotspot, I do use the unlimited data plan I have, a lot with my Laptop and Pixel 6 is even more bad with the modem from Samsung. 10-20% per hour and the heat... Photos... I did like to make some insta food pics but since I have the Pixel 6, that cam sensor did kill all the fan with it. It just does not work, any better with even larger sensors? (as far as I've read into it, it's because of the large sensors creating this debts/focus issue I have with it) I've read Google missed to get the fully new soc ready with TSMC and had to fall back to the G4 which is pracitcally a G3 with a newer Modem from Samsung. (Which explains the gaming performance and benchmarks) ((though I do remember this story/rumor since G2) 1K for a phone it's a bit anyoing to get a probably only 'mid' CPU compared to other 1k phones. I don't play those terrible mobile transaction games so it would not be a deal breaker. As of now there are some deals till the end of August here with Pixel 9 verions double storage (256 instead of 128) for the same price, 128GB is not justable, 256 is my minimum... I haven't decided yet. What really would help me out is, how much heat and battery drain with active wifi hotspot per hour? (not even huge data usage, I'm using it mostly for work laptop, which is basically only a Browser with all those cloud apps ERP and MS365) 😅How do food pics look? I know I know, it's looks stupid when people to make fotos from their food in a restaurant but I did like to make pics from the food I make myself in the past, like Pizza and with older Phones the pics did look better.

Handled better in the darkness. Face unlock, fingerprint reader perfect. Felt good in hand. 8-> 9, I haven't got my 9 pro yet, but it feels....okay in hand, sucks that it's slightly bigger and the corners aren't curved. But the fingerprint reader, and every camera is drastically better(and clearly better at temps) I say all of this, because 6 -> 9, is gonna be an absolutely insane jump for you lmao. Phone is smaller, fingerprint reader, face unlock, astronomically better camera and features lol. You should get great bonuses to trade in your 6,

The 9 is just worse design to me way too rounded corners bigger camera punch hole flat edges and a giant camaera bump instead of being part of the frame Looks so much worse than the 7 not to mention the processor
