The zoom enhancement feature in Google Photos seems amazing, but it's actually something that has existed in many AI apps under a different name. Generally, they are not free. It's great that Google Photos has incorporated it, and it should be available for other phones running Google Photos, as it likely runs these AI tasks on the cloud.

I don't see much of a difference on paper regarding the technical specifications of the periscope 5x telephoto on both, they're both f/2.8 and both are a full frame 112mm equivalent... Apps on android using the camera will usually take kind of a screenshot of the camera interface instead of natively having access to the camera. Google making both the phone and the OS means they can properly integrate it like iPhones do and use all their fancy post processing.

If you enable HDR, you receive an HDR video back. Please make sure you turn on HDR before you do a video comparison with the Pixel 9 Pro using video boost!

Can you look into the social media performance a little more in depth please. Which apps does the 9 improve and which not so much. Also, if it's better to upload to instagram stories directly from the camera gallery or use the native camera app to upload something. I think Android 15 is supposed to also make it easier for apps to used higher quality pictures for posting.

6:31 this is the biggest news. Camera v2 API being complicated and not used properly by a lot of apps, including most of the social media, is a major pain in the ass and a reason why people think Android phones take bad pictures and video. Hopefully this is wind of change and will trickle down to older models and more apps 🤞

All are very well implemented and nothing feels like a gimick, just can't wait for Android 15 to shine these new phones even more, let alone the under the hood improvements, I do noticed the status bar icons are aligned with the camera punch hole now, did it change after the play system update? I also hope the status bar panel shifts down a bit to make the gap between the front camera to the top of the screen to the bottom of it

While these features are great, one thing I'd appreciate is to run some of this stuff in real time which would give us a good impression of speed, unless you're doing an entirely separate video of course. Tried this on a demo unit in the shop and the phone was agonizingly slow. All that is keeping the Pixel from reaching great heights...is a cpu.

I got my pixel 9 Pro. It still has horrible overheating issues and network coverage on 5g is still a problem. Returning my pixel back. I will wait for next year when tensor chip is developed by tsmc and network modem is Qualcomm. What to do with when doing basic things is a struggle.

What about the quality of high-res image (I'm talking full frame camera) upload to Instagram? Photos posted from my Pixel 6 pro look so much worse than other people's lower quality photos. Even uploading the same photo from my Pixel vs my MacBook it's a day and night difference.
