It's on track. I think it's a mistake unlocking your phone if your watch is unlocked. As if your phone is pickpocketed it's unlocked. I know you can lock it if you get to your watch fast, still not safe. I'm still waiting for maximum heart rate alerts while exercising, as you pass the threshold, not every unit of time or distance. Pixel watches are small, it would be good with the Fitbit app to decrease the fields from 4 all the way down to 2 or 1. So it's easier to see heart rate, time, time taken, average pace etc with just 2 or 1 field during activity. Heart rate being the main one.

The activity controls in a workout should be on all the Pixel watches. I dont see a reason why Google wouldn't have had this originally and it's a bit annoying they're only bringing it to the PW3

​@@ChaseTheSummit Ouch! In my testing when the PW2 came out, the GPS accuracy was terrible compared side-by-side to my Garmin I2X, though it's nice to see the Fitbit app getting a facelift for sports, it was pretty spartan when I was doing my testing.

I was mainly referring to the smaller 41mm form factor as it got smaller bezels and a larger display. The 45mm form factor provides 40% more screen real estate than the smaller version with the same thin bezels.

Looks like the lte model does not require a subscription like the ultra?

The LTE service requires a subscription to use the cellular data. However, currently Google in the USA is running a promotion that will give users 2 years of free service on Google Fi with the purchase of a watch. So essentially you're getting 2 years of free data, after that you'll need to pay or move the service to a different provider. Typically LTE service is under $10/month and on some providers like Visible it's actually free to add a wearable.

Now, Apple not only has to catchup to Garmin, Polar and such, but even to WearOS. A lot has to do with the HRM which is only tracks HR (and HRV) is irregular patterns. Perhaps the new watch next month will come with a new, 24/7 hrm and Apple builds on the features shown for next WatchOS, adding comparable stuff.

@@Monsieur2068 No, that nowhere near anything of a recovery score or readyness score, neither conceptually nor in reality. It would be difficult in implement such a feature without a 24/7 heart rate measurement in a meaningful way. When I did a crushing intervall training on monday and my legs were soggy toast yesterday, the vitals app on my AWU (being on the beta) showed that my breathing, wrist temperature, blood oxygen saturation, resting heart rate were in a normal range and that I slept 7 hours which was said to be enough. The training load showed something like 8% over the line. Basically, Apple said I´m in a brillant shape to do whatever I want while healthfit (depending on TRIMP; ATL; CTL and such) claimed I´m in the orange zone. Athlytic, TrainingToday and such are selling snake oil with fancy colors because the watch´s HRM is a random number generator, only giving HRV readings ever 5 to 10 minutes at best in a format that is only used by Apple in the field of wearables. Apple also is the brand that does not give training advice based on your body´s reaction, something the tiny company Polar and the (compared to apple) small Garmin give since at least 2020.

@@GarminPro Yes, having 3rd party sensor support is a basic any watch should have, but also those are two different things . Having external sensor support does not excuse Apple from lacking such a feature and does not mean that Apple has to catch up to others on that field.

Hands on implies I put my hands on it... which I did at two different events one in NY one in California. Hands on videos are super early glimpses on what the device actually looks and acts like in real life rather than the marketing renders.
