Given that Pixel subscription and poor battery life, the Samsung Galaxy watch with a 'Pancho Villa's Army' HR sensor, Huawei Watches' dubious Android integration and half the apps not working properly, and Apple Watches simply out of my reach... We really need a video for the best devices (I'm more interested in bands than watches, since I dont like wearing these so the smaller the better) that DON'T require a subscription to show detailed health info or use the sports functions...
@MondSemmel6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video! Minor feedback: When you explain graphs (like at 0:55), you're moving your mouse cursor around to point at stuff. However, the default mouse cursor is really small and thus hard to see in presentations and videos. To improve this, you could make the mouse cursor much bigger in your Windows settings, and/or install an app which helps with this. (Suggested search terms: highlight mouse pointer; mouse laser pointer; better mouse presentation.)

Hey there! I know I've mentioned this before, but I'll keep nudging until it sticks 😄. Could you do a video on the future of health wearables? Specifically, what kind of bio-sensors we might see in the next five years? Would love to hear your thoughts!

@@Catalanskrr I'm ok with turning stuff off. I just need notifications (I think around 300/day) and health/fitness tracking to work for 100 hours. Everything else is a sort of a nice to have. Fitbit sense does what I describe almost perfectly with battery to spare. On my second one in ~4.5 years of usage. The original pixel watch had at best 1 day and a like an hour or two of battery. Pixel watch 2 could get just about 2.5 days (good improvement but not quite enough). I heard the pixel watch 3 had battery improvements, but I didn't hear "double the battery life" so I guess I'll keep waiting. One day it'll get there. Maybe pixel watch 4 as it should be getting close. Didn't really like the galaxy watch ultra and that had sufficient battery life. I want that but for a pixel watch. If it costs $500+ that's fine.

I'd consider this, but i hate having to have subscription just to have deep sleep analysis.
@StefanKamer5 ай бұрын
You don't really need the sub. Without the sub it's the same level of detail that you see in most other competing watches. The subscription gives you a level of detail that you don't usually see elsewhere like statistical analysis within each stage of sleep
@do__ob5 ай бұрын
The subscription exists because they need it to keep Fitbit alive. They could remove the sub and make everything free and standard but the price would have to go up by quite a bit, and they also know that not everyone will want or need the complementary data and analisys that fitbit provides. I don't really like that system either but I suppose it's the best middle ground for now. At least they give 6 months for free so you can decide for yourself if it's useful to you or not.

@@EvertonAbreuCorreaWe are talking about minor improvements within the data. 0.93-0.98 with Apple and 0.91+ with the Pixel watch 2. Regarding that point both are just as fine. You should be more worried about battery life and the user interface. Apple has it‘s own ecosystem and everything matches, but Google is a combination of several ideas. Android was never designed to blend in that well like an Apple Watch with IOS. Apple does the best Software in the industry, but with the big downside of minor improvements in their devices over the years and mostly outdated components with a high price point. Decide for yourself, but be aware that if you pick Apple over Android you pay more for less, especially when it comes to Smartphones. It has a reason why this channel prefers the Oura Ring and Whoop strap. They don‘t give you the best data, but they are easy to wear, because comfort plays a big role too.
@Lasnem-rt1mm5 ай бұрын
@@EvertonAbreuCorrea I am also in trouble, as Apple watches are pretty good, but wear os watches are not so... While apple phones are terrible for me, I tried them and escaped from that world back to Android in 6 months, that was a period which hit me so much with their old school OS and missing of many functions vs to high-end android phones. At the moment I have an alternative solution: Android phone + Ticwatch + Oura ring 3. Last two would be fine to replace by one really good wear OS watch, but there is no any options on the market, as: larger size + 3-4 days battery with AOD + accurate sensors both for sports and sleep tracking + all features open to use on xioami phone. Samsung Watch Ultra looks good for me, but there are important features locked to non-Samsung phone users, further it was not so cool in Rob's test, thile its price is getting close to apple watch ultra... I am not sure what Google does on this line, but they can not feel how to have real funky...

I'd like a 400+usd watch to at least for days or weeks. I'm not sure why the battery size or usage is so incorrect on premium watches. The power could go to the core features and lighten the usage from OS and any extra features. Also no sensor for oxygenation/pressure if I'm understanding correctly. Do you have any data and opinions on accuracy and uses of the extra sensors on even budget and mid-range wearables? It seems a weird trade for me that premium devices seem to not last long or have full features.
