Hi, Your video is Great, very clear and very comprehensive, I loved it. I would love to know how to count multiple criteria when one of them is in two columns and not in one column. That is, two criteria are in a single column and a third criteria is in the range of two adjacent columns.

I'm trying to take a set of words that are not organized in anyway, in columns and rows, and highlight the duplicates. I've tried =COUNTIF (B:M)>1 in conditional formatting, but it's not working. It works if I have it comparing words in a single row or column, but not together.

How do you count multiple single cells with the same criteria? I thought it may be something like =COUNTIFS(OR(C23>=300),OR(N23>=300),OR(Y23>=300),OR(AJ23=>=300),"01x","") but of course, that doesn't work. Everything seems to be about counting a range of cells. I just want to count single cells.

Nice question! My understanding is you would like to return the COUNT of cells that are >=300. You can do that with a formula like this one: =COUNTIF({C23,N23,Y23,AJ23},">=300") Let us know if that solves it for you!

What if i want the range to remain the same, but for there to be multiple possible criterias. For an excample: =Countifs(C3:C18, "Social". But i also want "social media" in the same criteria. How do you solve this?

Unfortunately, COUNTIFS formulas don't easily allow for 'OR' conditions like in your example, but you have a few options to do this: 1. Simple Solution: Write separate COUNTIFS formulas for each condition you have, and then simply add the results of each COUNTIFS. If you have many conditions, this can make the formula very long. 2. Advanced Solution: You can use an Array Formula to do something similar, but in a more clean and condensed formula like this: =ArrayFormula(SUM(COUNTIF(C3:C18,{"Social", "Social Media"})))

I kept getting an error and couldn't make it work on Google Sheet until I used the symbol ; instead of , after selecting the range! I don't understand how it can work on most Sheets but not on a particular one of mine. There is no guide out there to explain this detail and took me a while to experiment on what could be the problem.

The function separator in every Google Sheets file is dependent to the chosen "Locale" from File > Settings. Most countries would use comma as their separator, while many countries in Europe opt to use semi-colon. We recommend checking your Locale settings of your file, and updating this accordingly.
