This has been THE most life saving video on fitness spreadsheets thank you SO much for taking the time to do this! Super helpful.

Hey DSM, Thanks for this incredible tutorial! I was wondering if there is a way to hide the red triangle on the program spreadsheet as you select exercises from the category? Or does the tick box need to remain on the entire time? Thanks

This tutorial is changed my life!! Thank you so much. One thing i want to question is i would love to send the linked video in the "Exercise Name" to my clients, and i was thinking if i put the video link to the "Exercise List" in the "Exercise Video sheet", its going to effect to Exercise Name. But its because "Data Validation" it comes out with only exercise name.... is there any trick to use the data validation or other way to show the linked video exercise name?

Hi. Would you be able to provide a small video that advances the category to include exercise equipment required, like dumbbells, machine-based, barbell etc? So what I am thinking is, you could select horizontal push, and that you want dumbbell exercises, add basically another layer of criteria? thanks!
@adthomas25422 жыл бұрын
i;ve managed it by adding in another column next to 'exercises' on programming sheet. i made a unique formula similar to the initial one, but now looking at the equipment rather than push, pull etc.i then just added in the condition in the filter that it needs to be true for the equipment, as well as the type of exercise it is. an extra layer of selection available now:) thanks for your videos they're really great, learnt so much

you can follow the same process to add more filters to your sheet to fit your needs.

Hi I saw your comment and can I ask how you did this? I tried doing it myself but ended up with error formatting when I tidied things up. Would love if you can shed some insight on this.

I have not worked out in..... 7 years?.... We are going in to winter here and was looking at a a gym membership. My 13 (almost 14) year old daughter is adiment that she wants to start going to the gym with me. We are thinking about adding mass for now at least for a few (4?) months. Before we start working on strength and toning (late winter early spring). I am having a hell of a time coming up with a workout regiment. You know Leg Day, Back/Bicept, Chest/Tricept, shoulders/core etc. Thoughts?

at minute 6:57 you "locked in" a range - how do you do that?

How would I be able to add hyperlinked videos to my template so each exercise pulls the corresponding video? I already have the list of hyperlinked videos that I used instead of typing each exercise in. The hyperlink goes away once I type the formula in… Just to be clear your method worked for me but I’d like to hyper link the exercises to a KZbin link demonstrating the movement. Is this possible?

4.26...unique formula, how would we stop blank categories showing up? I ask this because rather than me generating one large list of exercises, with the categories all mixed up, I've made separate columns for push, pull, lower glutes etc. categories. However, when I do my unique formula (and had to include a flatten function too to make it work)) it is picking up a blank category if that makes sense.

hmm my issue with this method is, with different columns for each category of exercise (rather than one giant list of all the exercises), i struggle to do the filter function (like you do at the side) because I can only seem to select one range...can't select multiple column ranges it seems?

I would create an array of all of your exercise categories {array 1; array 2; array 3 ....} etc

In your video, you show the exercise name and category going vertical. I have my categories going horizontal with all the exercises under each category. I literally have hundreds of exercises listed. Can the unique formula still work? I get a #ref when I try this.
@DSMStrength3 жыл бұрын
could try unique(transpose(data))

When trying to filter out the actual category to have the exercises organized by category in the exercise list when I put the corresponding formula in it says formula parse error.

Why there is an error in the exercise select in day 1 column?
@DSMStrength3 жыл бұрын
Once the selection no longer matches the exercises in the box it will show an input error but it will not affect the functionality

when I typing the =arrayformula(if(match(B2:B, filter('Video'!$B$7:$B$17, 'Video'!$C$7:$C$17), false) >0, true)) Always #Ref!

your filter has no condition
