One key thing that should be explained is if there is a way to be able to see when a call that is coming in is someone who dialed your actual phone number or if it’s a business call coming in through the app.

It looks like in the google call settings you can select the option to Show my google voice number as caller ID. Once that is selected you can add your Google phone number in your cell phone contacts as "Customer" for example.

I had the same question! If I choose to have my Google voice number show up as my caller ID, how would I get my customers number for follow ups calls since it'll show my Google voice ID as opposed to my client's? I could ask, but I will not always have a way to record it all the time i.e. driving or no pen and paper.

Hi a few questions for you: Does it matter if I set up google voice on my phone or laptop? I will mainly be using it to answer calls on my android phone (would have to set up on both devices separately). I want to use my google voice number as the main number listed on my website does it matter if I get personal or business? I will be linking two numbers-my partners and my number so if someone calls on the GV# whose phone will ring first, and can the call be transferred so the other person can answer instead? On our phones will the screen show it is a GV call and not a regular call coming in- how will we know he difference- can set up a different ring tone if necessary? I also want to confirm the GV caller can leave a voice message and text? If the call doesn't get to my partner in time, will it forward to me? What greeting does the customer hear when they call? I'm worried it'll say "forwarding you to the google subscriber" etc...rather than sounding professional with our recorded business greeting. Thankyou for your time! Much appreciated

Great questions! Yes I have it on my iPhone you just download the app. And yes you can both text and receive pictures. As far as changing ringtone I don’t believe you can, it just defaults to whatever your phones is. But you can turn on call screening so you’ll know when you answer it if the person is calling your Google voice or not.

The reason i am asking is to find out if a person can have a second stand alone google voice number or not (for free) if not then can i set up a second GV number by using my husbands details? It's issues per personal phone number- so if you sign up for Google voice using your cell phone number you can't then use that number again to get another Google Voice number but if you have an additional cell phone number i.e. your husbands then yes you can have 2!

Your existing Google voice number should be tied to your actual phone number so you shouldn’t have to add it, it should be automatic. Check your current Google voice number on the web and make sure your phone number is tied to it.

I'm having an issue where my co-worker is trying to set up WhatsApp business in her cellphone, so it sends a verificaton code to the linked number which is our Boss' (he's in the US and we are in Latam), but the code never arrives. Other apps like Telegram and calling work, the sms and calls arrive. WhatsApp nor Google have been very helpful about it. It is supposed to work, would you be able to tell me what should i look for?
