Amazing landscape, reminds me of a trip when we were supposed to take the Great Central Road to the east from Laverton. The road was closed, so we detoured across the Nullarbor Plain by highway. Somewhere east of Ceduna we took a track north passing Kingoonya. The landscape looked much like this video. Great memories !

GREETINGS FROM BRITISH COLUMBIA. GREAT VIDEO. I WAS MORE OR LESS OUT THIS WAY BACK IN 1962 IN A SERIES 2 LAND ROVER WHEN THE NULLARBOUR WAS JUST A TRACK AND THERE WAS AN OLD METAL GATE SEPARATING SOUTH AND WESTERN AUSTRALIA. Like you, I longed to 'roam', but unlike yourself, being married with a family was the prohibitive factor for me. I simply couldn't spare the time nor money to travel tp the places I wanted to. But now, mid forties, I am preparing my vehicle and creating an itinerary. Finally, it's going to happen, the way I want it to. This is occurring much later in life than I'd hoped... my former wife and I talked about heading off on such a trip with the kids and a camper, but again, life got in the way. But, so long as I go everywhere in Australia I want to go before I die, I'll be buried with a smile on my dial. Cheers for the inspiration to finally get out there. See you on the tracks!

21:28 I've a drive in me now, in my 30s. To seek adventure, to explore, to create memories ... But what scares me more, than being alone, is waiting. Waiting till retirement to begin living my life. And this is the way I want to go; no tourists, maybe a dog, and of course a buddy who knows where we're going!!!! LOL!!!!!! That's probably the hardest part, otherwise you'd have someone with you. Ever since I became aware of Malcolm Douglas and his trips through the Kimberly, I've wanted to head to Broome and begin my journey. After reading Syd Kyle-Little's book, I'm determined to sit and listen to them for a while.

Loved your video. Please make more. I have been debating on getting a Defender....we'll see...I think a mechanics course would be in order before doing so. I had a Range Rover years ago and the day the check engine light finally went off, I drove it immediately to the Lexus dealer and traded it in before the light came back on. The Land Rover mechanics never were able to figure out what was wrong with it. My daughter still has the Lexus SUV 18 years later and it's still going strong. I still love the look and feel of any Land Rover though. Best of luck on your next BIG adventure and I look forward to the video.
