The final scene from the film Goon: Last of the Enforcers. I don’t own the rights to any footage I just enjoyed the film.

Even though this one isn't as good as the first, I do like that LaFlamme's character arch was completed. Him getting the clutch assist for versus getting the game winning goal himself made me smile.

I happily agree but not completely. This last ending, that last moment knowing he throws that last haymaker was hard coming to terms that his life needs to move on with his real team. That alone put this movie on par with the first. But the first was the best.

I had to ref a game back in 1978 in the Allentown Ice Hockey league . Two guys in the league were constantly fighting . I had to fill in ( we were short refs. ) as a ref. , as I played on another team ( Allentown Cortex Rangers , Captain ) . I was a 5' 7" 140 lb. defenseman and 30 years old . These guys were both over 6 ft. , 180 lbs. and 19 years old ! They were eyeing each other up during the pregame warm ups . I told their coaches , its a 10 minute game misconduct first time they drop the gloves . All I had was shin pads and a helmet , oh yea , a striped shirt a whistle ? 20 seconds into the game they were at it . I got the snot kicked out of me , then just let them dance ? You have to stand up or take up figure skating ? But remember one thing . after the hammering , we always shook hands !

I love how Ross and Doug have kind of an Apollo/Rocky relationship. Like yeah they were enemies, but the respect was always there, so then becoming friends makes sense. I honestly just really like the progression of this entire sequel. Xavier and Doug’s friendship is so much stronger. Fergie being their medic and Ogilvey becoming a coach both just make perfect sense.

Say what you will about the sequel not being as good, not being necessary, etc. But I love both of these movies so much. The sequel being exactly what it should be. A send off. Not a franchise, not a trilogy. It's main theme, is about things coming to a close. Doug having one final fight, bleeding one last time for his team as Cain would have likely murdered someone, as well became a father and had to move on for Eva and his kid's sake. Cain as well finally ending his time in the sport because of his father forcing expectations and how self destructive it was making him. Rhea not going out like some nancy boy fuck, but one last brawl that ended his time finally as an enforcer. Laflamme coming to realize that he is actually hitting the end of his abilities and likely his time in the limelight. He not only accepts it but embraces it with the final moments being a clutch assist for another player's big moment. It is a really, really great film, excluding a few moments and this also being Jay Baruchel's first movie he directed, was going to be rough around the edges.
