@@bt7482 Vulf, whom I enjoy, is a not a jam band. They are a collection of dudes who went to music school and revived the funk and soul formula for a new generation. I respect what they've done, but it's more in the "classical" regurgitative style. Goose's music, on the other hand, has structure which serves as a platform for an improvisational conversation collectively creating musical art in real time.

I’m 31, been pretty heavy into the Dead/Allman bros. Don’t mean to put them in same category like that but whatever. My GF got me into goose in the past year and we saw them live over the summer at railbird fest in Kentucky. It was middle of the day with 90 degree weather. These guys played with the sun directly in their eyes and put on a helluva show. And being a halfway decent guitar player, Rick Goose absolutely rips! Such a great guitarist, and Peter’s pretty sick too! A lot of people say they sound just like phish, maybe a little but they have their own sound and are awesome and super fun live! Sounds like the crowd is booong and they say “GOOOOOOOOOOSE”. They were full of energy and would recommend and are definitely seeing them again. No, I agree, there was a lot of "jamming" that went on in the 70's that sounded like noodling. All these guys wouldn't be doing what they're doing though if not for the trails blazed by bands like GD.
