Heroes in action! Great job Jenna! Love y'all and keep up the great work. ❤ Snow Geese are some of my favorite birds and a group of them migrate to my yard every year. I even have a couple of vids from two separate years on my channel where my neighbors domestic goose would come across the street into my yard and lead the snow geese across my yard and safely across the road and into her pasture. I think she sadly passed away because I haven't seen her this year when the flock returned, but I'm glad I was able to capture it on video to share with the world because it was so beautiful and truly amazing to see.🪿

Not our normal "raptor rescue" but a very happy ending all the same and thats all that matters! Those are the days i love my job the most!

*My gander put my tooth through my lip with his wing years ago. I was holding him, and he saw my wasband and wanted to attack him. 🤭 He got so excited that he started flapping his wings and hit me in the lip!! It went ALL the way through it!! 😮 I could have used it as a piercing, but that was not popular back in the 90's!!* 🤣🤣

Hey @firewaterbydesign, Wow, what a story! That must have been quite the experience, although I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. Geese sure are protective, and when they get worked up, those wings can be as dangerous as any other part of them. I hope your lip healed well, even if you missed out on setting a fashion trend with a "goose wing piercing"! Your tale is a great reminder of why it's so important to handle geese-and all wildlife-with care and to be mindful of their body language and stress signals. For anyone handling or interacting with geese or other large birds, wearing protective gear and understanding their behavior can help avoid these kinds of incidents. If you or anyone else is curious about how to safely interact with wildlife and learn more about their behaviors, don't forget to check out our KZbin channel. We have plenty of resources and advice for safe and respectful wildlife interactions. Here’s the link to our channel for more informative and fun stories like yours: [Wildlife Command Center KZbin Channel](kzbin.info/door/x4UeydCJfXHnV-wtF80TEQ). Thanks for sharing your memorable encounter, and here’s to safe future interactions with all our feathered friends! @WildlifeCommandCenter *I actually used to do rescue, rehabilitation, and release at the Oregon coast before we had a wildlife center. I was the person that the vets would call because I specialized in birds of all kinds. I spent much of my adult life dedicated to the service of birds and animals.*
