Only die-hard Goosebumps fans will realize just how clever the Goosebumps movies really are! First of all, using the typewriter from the book "The Blob That Ate Everyone" as a way to get every Goosebumps monster in the movie is SUCH a smart and cool idea! Secondly, the main character in "The Blob That Ate Everyone" is a kid named Zack, the same name of the main character in the movie, and both book Zack and movie Zack have to use their imaginations essentially in order to save everyone at the end. You have the character of Hannah, a friendly, helpful ghost who lives next door. Same as Hannah from the book "The Ghost Next Door". In the second Goosebumps film there is a scene involving Slappy walking down a hallway at night, clutching a Screwdriver menacingly, which almost perfectly mirrors a scene in one of the "Night of the Living Dummy" books, (I can't remember which one, it's been awhile since I read them), where Slappy is walking down a hallway at night, clutching a paintbrush. Not to mention all the fun Easter eggs in the films such as the R.L Stine cameos, the Coo-coo clock of doom in Stine's basement, and the shrunken heads in his dining room! I'm sure there's more I missed, but I can't think of any others right now.
@ben-neon1911 ай бұрын
You must be a really big fan. I love Goosebumps but I missed a few of what you said so I'm glad you brought these up. I even have a poster! Some books in this film are; Let's Get Invisible, Night of the Living Dummy, The Blob that Ate everyone, The Ghost Next Door, A Shocker on Shock Street, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes, The Curse of the Mummys tomb, Please Don't feed the vampire, The Haunted Car, A Nightmare on Clown Street, The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena, The Werewolf of Fever Swamp, Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls, Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Mask, Attack of the Jack O Lanterns, etc

@@ninjabunnywholivesinsideaw8216 Also these are just my theories; but the abandoned amusement park(where Zack and Hannah sneak off to with the fun house and the ferris wheel) could be a reference to One Day At Horrorland, and the song that plays during the dance, Heads Will Roll is probably a nod to the book, Heads You Lose, then there's the abnormally large bees which are based off the book, Why I'm afraid of Bees, and when Stine is in an auditorium typing out a story, this probably refers to Phantom of the Auditorium, and at the end of the film the Invisible boy writes his revenge on the typewriter with his handprint on the glass and in the SlappyWorld series there's a book called Revenge of the Invisible Boy. 😁

I know some fans of the series likely complained about not getting an adaptation of any of the actual books, but I think the reason why didn’t is because none of the Goosebumps novels are long enough to get a 90 minute to two hour movie out of.

Hannah died in a accident that caught her house on fire and she herself went through the emotions of her life day after day unaware the things around her had changed, in the story she came back to save a boy named Danny from a shadow entity who tries to kill him and take over his form so he could have a shape, a body.

one thing about the goosebumps books that a lot of people forgot (or didn't know entirely) is that they have the same concept as the Stephen King books. They are all set in the same universe, same world, every once in a while the same characters are mentioned in sequels and even the same locations are mentioned again sometimes too...a few examples: Slappy the Dummy (from Night of the Living Dummy), Cursed Camps (numerous books), Say Cheese and Die, Horrorland (which not only has it's own series but is mentioned in reference in at least 3 or 4 other Goosebumps books that i think of). Monster Blood. Honestly the number of times the series interconnects is amazing.

Fun fact xD The house used for Stine’s in this film belongs to a relative of a friend of ours. I actually stayed there in Atlanta during a hurricane evacuation for a bit and it was fun to see all the rooms they used and the neighborhood. The problem with critics these days is actually starting to spread to the general public. These days people go into every experience ( music, movies etc) viewing it through the lense of what don’t I like about this? Even movies that pretty much everyone agrees are spectacular you always have people nitpicking and ignoring all the great things about it. Honestly it’s getting really annoying. We all have different tastes not everything has to be your favorite, but people have forgotten there is a huge difference between something is not your cup of tea and something that is actually bad. You not liking something doesn’t mean it’s not good. For example with singers. There is a specific set of criteria that mean someone can sing. Being able to sing doesn’t mean you have perfect technique 100% of the time. There are people that can sing with good voices, but people try to say they can’t sing because they aren’t perfect at it or they don’t like their style of music or singing. It’s just wild to me.
