There needs to be a followup commercial for the couples who have had to "discontinue" every pregnancy they've had for years and might start feeling like a Blue child is better than no child at all. I'm a registered Independent for over 3 decades with largely left-leaning sympathies, but will vote for Republican candidates when their positions warrant it. I loved your piece but wish it wasn't so generalizing about the third of the country that identifies itself as Republican. 90% of the views espoused here as "GOP" are actually TEA Party - or other extremist rightwing views within the GOP - being forced by a very small, vocal and well-funded minority. So at the risk of being shouted down by equally rabid left-wingers here, it occurs to me that this very funny (and scary) video satire could have been more effective at moving moderate Republicans (yes they do exist) to the left if it didn't just lump them in with the extremist TeaBaggers et al. My plugged nickel - take it or leave it.

I'm a registered Independent for almost two decades. The video is correct. The ENTIRE GOP is just batshit crazy, and anyone who isn't an old white male billionaire is happily tiptoeing amonst the tulips and voting against their own best interests.

artisanrox well you're entitled to your opinion. but I have 100s of friends across the US who are actually moderate Republicans who don't agree with the extreme attitudes being claimed in this video. And lumping such people in with the rightwignuts is unfair, unsupported by fact and ill-advised.

Please, what Republicans don't shudder or freak out at just the thought of their kids becoming... Liberals? Or haven't gone far right when the kids did? Because that's more than 10% of the spot right there, don't let a kid that might turn Blue on you make it to the fetus stage.
