A so-called mechanic changing the oil in my Chevy Blazer (back in the early 1990s) came into the lobby and told me my alternator wasn't charging. I followed him out to the car which was on a rack over a pit. The key was turned so the dash display was on and the alternator indicator wasn't showing charging. I turned to him calmly and said, Yep, the alternator isn't charging. I paused a second and then said, The engine isn't running. Then I returned to the lobby laughing. I found it funny that he thought he'd get me, a "stupid" woman to shell out for a repair I didn't need. Not all of us ladies are as dumb as men think we are.

The 5th amendment is not really relevant as the Republicans have effectively already set a precedent for ignoring congressional subpoenas. So just to make sure I've got a handle on this....SBF was in the Bahamas when he was arrested only a day or two before he was scheduled to appear in front of Congress to answer their questions, and the GOP genuinely believe he intended on showing up to the hearing? Isn't the fact he was in the Bahamas enough of a give away he had no intention or interest on returning to the US? Finally, and I'll admit I'm no expert of the US legal system here, but wouldn't it, in fact, make it easier to get this guy to the hearing once the DOJ knew where he was and could control his movements, ie under arrest?

I would think his placement as the front person for the "currency" was a deliberate move to create a plausible escape goat for the original users of the "currency". I first saw it pop up with the rise of the dark net and it's sole purpose was for purchasing goods/services without a direct money trail. As attention was drawn to the criminal activity going on, various governments began cracking down on the anonymity of the "currency". And so it was necessary to open the doors to investment to create a cash influx in order to try and hide previous transactions and give the original users a chance to cash out with a profit. Keep in mind this is not a opinion/theory linked with any political party, it is simply an observation that criminals used a fake "currency" to make their transactions and the average investor is they get out of jail free card. PS: this kid seems like the type of person who knew he was being set up but was in it for the "thrill ride" and as such will go down keeping the attention fixed on himself while the others scramble to safty.
