Aaron can you speak to what you would do to mod a stock G23LH on a Bigfoot? Obviously I've watched your progression but am wondering if it's worth tweaking the stock engine with a better carb (currently has the 138) and a Jetpro pipe (Sikk? Does it matter?) and...or would you recommend just putting on a G290? DDM has them for $220; seems like that plus a pipe would get you the most for the money...not looking for anything fancy. Just fun to ride AND something with a bit more ability to get up hills. Where we are is mixed with some flat but lots of up and down. Rider weight(s) are 175-200lbs. Lastly, why the LD kit? Now the 'Ped will stall at every light no? What am I missing? I sort of get the benefit but does it not need a clutch too?

Honestly if you can afford the 290 I highly recommend it. It’s a high performance engine. The LH is literally a small cc utility engine. The only reason I’m building this LH is for fun. Also I prefer the jet pro pipe over the sickk. The 290 with a pipe is a powerful power plant stock. The LH can’t compare to the 290 unless it is heavily modified. Lock down kit: yes it will stall when you stop. Turns the Bigfoot into a large sport. The lock down kit allows you to have perfect spindle traction all the time. You can fit a centrifugal clutch on the lock down kit. It has to be the right clutch. The factory clutch system will release the engine at top speed or when the load is minimized.

Must be cosmic. ;) Just to echo the rest of the folks here, really appreciate you shooting and sharing the videos. Very helpful to those of us new to riding/wrenching on these. So fun and somehow I like these more than the newest fad of electric. Thanks again.

What are the benefits of lightening the flywheel? Does it really make a big difference, or is it over hyped?

Less weight in the flywheel helps the engine rev faster. Downside is you lose some torque.

I bought about a year ago 2 gopeds sports. they came pretty beat up. i purchased 2 Zenoah G290RC 4-bolt engines. I have one already done. My issue now is when the bike is free-wheeling, the engine runs good. when we put it on the ground, you can drag her for 2 blocks & nothing. at times she'll try to start but not go. The wheel is kind of tough to get on so I think that maybe the spindle might be a little too big. what do you think? what other information do you need from me to help me & my sons out? The mobile work benches that I am using are actually bed side tables from a hospital. Doing hvac for a living, one of the hospitals I was working at happened to be throwing them away. So I snagged a few. They are super handy. I had to upgrade the plastic wheels to heavier duty ones.

Question, I can’t find anywhere. Does the g430rc bolt directly on the original sport??

It will not. The largest direct bolt on is the 290rc

Unfortunately this only works on the G23LH engine and the G43L engines. Rc flywheels do not have an even number of fins.

Just pucked up.a bine stock bigfoot. Eanting to do a sport build, nothing too crazy. First time owner but not new to 2 strokes. Also, the bars are loose/sloppy a bit. How do i fix this?

The timing in these engines is controlled by the flywheel key. Timing is adjusted by using a timing advance key. I show it in the video.

Can you tell me where the negative wire goes to from the coil? I know the positive goes to the kill switch, but since mine was missing some parts when I got it, I’m having trouble figuring it out. Thanks!

You don’t need the negative hooked up to anything. From Zenoah there was only a kill switch wire supplied with the engine.
