@Tomasz Nowacki to be clear, you will never overheat the battery when recording in short 3 min bursts:) I, for one, typically record until it dries out completely and sometimes (GP10, actually never happened to me with GP9, maybe once) and unfotunately more often than not, even when sufficient air-flow is provided to keep it cooled down, it overheats and then I have to switch to my GP9 while taking the battery out of GP10 and let them cool down enogh to use again. I've been using both GP9 and GP10 pretty much the whole year, all seasons for my outdoor activities and I've noticed what follows: 1. The brand new standard 9P9/10 batteries recorded max. about an hour long footage, I typically record in 2.7k, 30fps. After few months (I go out to record sometimes, definitely not everyday), recording times gradually fell to about 40 minutes long level maximum and they keep falling down to 25-30 mins now. When it's cold outside, not even subzero, they obviously dry out even faster. Obviously - gps and wi-fi are always disabled, screen brightness set to minimum. 2. With some of those 10 batteries, when in use, my cameras display "Low battery" prompt message and then turn off, even while displaying like 40% capacity! This is pretty outrageous, like I said, I've 10 of them, haven't used them all too for too long, I use them one by one, in order to not overuse some of them all the time. Also, I use GoPro twin-chargers (own two), I also make sure to use 5-6V charger, as prescribed by GoPro not to damage batteries or otherwise decrease their life span. My opinion, based on my rather vast experience with these new batteries is that they are not very good, too say the least, and once regularly used, their live span decreases pretty fast. I do own one "enduro" battery from Gopro and I did notice it indeed runs about 1/3 longer than the standard one. They obviously came up with this one just to give gopro users something that can record longer as the original battery rather disappoints, to be honest. And it has to be said that a price tag for their standard battery is a rip-off, considering its poor performance.

How does the battery life go (on say a 10 Black), when used together with the Remote Control. My recording use, when I surf waves, would be something like: a) Paddle out to the surf break (30 minutes) with record OFF, but in a 'Ready to Record' mode, then b) turn ON record for 3 minutes, then c) turn record OFF for 7 minutes, then repeat (b) and (c) for the next 2 or 3 hours. @@Tomasz.Nowacki I don't think that's the point... If you think about it, this is a battery test, not a data compression test. Why do they power off with 50% charge left?
@Tomasz.Nowacki2 жыл бұрын
It happens that the camera can overheat especiallybwhen u use power demanding settings , hero 10 black in 5k 60 burns the camera under 20 mins

As a new youtuber with a hero 10 black, it's not worth the money. It over heats, battery up time is short one two of the 4 batteries nhas already swollen. I only use it a few times a week for fishing

are you filming in 5.3k 60 fps?

@@travelescapesOFFICIAL no
@Tomasz.Nowacki2 жыл бұрын
Mostly i avoid it cause it takes so much space on both micro sd card and my hard drive, its harder to edit and it drains your battery faster than 4k. I personnally prefer 4k

@@Tomasz.Nowacki I record 2.7
@himanshu_singh27032 жыл бұрын
There was a fault check when you did 4k 60 for all 3.. for hero9 charge was not full it's shows 98% but for hero 10 you did 100%
@Tomasz.Nowacki2 жыл бұрын
All were at 100 or 99 % its just when i got recording perhaps i turned on the camera sth went wrong or not the way i liked to i haf a second take, during that process a camera could lose 1 or 2% but nothing serious to go recharge and postpone a whole video because of that

Yes u can ! Please also check the latest battery for hero 10 enduro battery for cold weather environment !
@moxnix2 жыл бұрын
I just purchased the Enduro after my standard GoPro battery came apart, yes it did. It overheated and when I went to remove it the blue plastic endplate with the pull tab came off. The batter has swollen to the point I had trouble getting it out of the camera. Now about my Endro, with the Endro I went on a short bike ride last night, my unofficial test ;-) Recording in 4K @ 60fps for 30 min the battery was down to 57%. I could see a little improvement with time, thinking using the SWAG system maybe the most 10% longer. Would like to hear from others what % they use for a 30 min filming @ 4K 60fps. This is the video that fried my original GoPro Battery - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5bCp6KcZbaCa6M

Why don’t you compare them to the same settings
@Tomasz.Nowacki2 жыл бұрын
For 5k 60 and 4k 120 i used other cameras as a reference to show their maximum performabce poaaible and then when all 3 cameras could record the same you could see same settings
@TheNewenglandboys Жыл бұрын
The best GoPro in my opinion is the hero 9 for price for features. And the so called overheating issue is being lost on the issue of using an SD card that’s too slow. Use an SDEX card rated U3 and see if the overheating issue is resolved. When the write ability of the SD card is too slow for the frame rate, it shuts down. A faster card is needed
@Tomasz.Nowacki Жыл бұрын
To me personally the best camera so far was hero 8 black , 117 grams or something and so small if only it had a removable lens it would be perfect, then gopro became bigger and heavier ....
@TheNewenglandboys Жыл бұрын
@@Tomasz.Nowacki I agree on the lack of removable lens on the 8 which is deal breaker for me but the better stabilization of the 9 is significant. I don’t see the upgrade of the 11 to be that significant. Once you get over 4k, some computers won’t read it anyway. I’m still on the fence but think I would go with the 9
