Deep dark water scares me harder than heights. At least with high places you know what's at the bottom. Underwater is like an alien world just beneath the surface.

omg. how long he can hold in that cold water?
@owaindavies71157 жыл бұрын
The colder water actually helps activate the mammalian dive reflex for freedivers so potentially anyway cold water can lead to a longer breath hold than warm. The cold slows the heart so using less oxygen in short.

Ice diving is next to cave diving one of the most dangerous diving sports you can perform.. Hole might freeze shut, maybe you loose orientation, you might get cought on something in that airplane for example... especially with free diving, you don't have much spare time

Yes, and i am hopeful that no one tries to copy. The diver is wearing a special suit and is an expert at ice diving. He is trained not to get hurt and there is safety crew under the water to help him if something goes wrong
@justinsem12137 жыл бұрын
all of us ARMYS feel the same LOL
@mathieuvillegas7 жыл бұрын
+Buzz Lightbeer , It's right that nobody should copy without appropriate training. We are all certified for deep freediving (Level 2 or more), and we stay very safe because we know all the risks and our limits (dives are half what we can do). Furthermore, we all have a dive buddy which is a certified freediver too, and who is checking us from the surface ready to dive if necessary (people scuba diving at the bottom in the video are people we don't know). If you want to do that, find a freediving school, get your certification, and have fun with other freedivers.
Stunning in every way, perfect music as well- it really brings out the visuals.

The mammalian reflex combined with the condensing of air at depth actually makes it easier to dive deeper. Most free diving accidents (blackout or LMC) happen within the last 3m or 10ft when ascending, or soon after surfacing.

@mathieuvillegas7 жыл бұрын
ThePastyPrince , you can't use dry suit when freediving for many reasons. But a good 5mm freediving suit do the job. The water is around 3°C. it's cold for the face, but you can deal with it. You can stay up to 1h30 in the water without feeling too cold.
