I never understood the alcohol-sponsor ban. I mean, it nowhere suggests you should drink and drive, just that some people paid to put their picture on some car.

Christophe L What alcohol sponsor ban? The only ban on sponsoring I know of is cigarettes and thats a law that you can't say anything good about it in commercials and broadcasts, because it is bad for you and they don't want kids to get intrigued by propaganda.

Loved this video! V8 Super Cars is what NASCAR should be. Full bodied, actual cars as opposed to the tube frame, built from the ground up race cars that are in NASCAR. Those vehicles only share a name and shape with their real world counterparts whereas V8 Super Cars are the same vehicles the public can buy from the showroom but prepared for racing.

Sarkazmo Loafy The race cars themselves are all similar to each other due to the fixed chassis design which is pretty much like the tube frame of NASCAR and the engine depending on the manufacturer the engine themselves aren't based on the showroom car, majority of the components are controlled. The only similarity to the race car and showroom is the body shape even that is altered according to the rules.

V8 Supercars and Nascar are still great formulas and provide excellent on the edge of the seat racing to watch as a spectator. " I love them both" I just think we are missing out in some way between what run around Bathurst on Sunday and what you could buy on Monday, things changed with the demise of group A. I am a Holden fan and felt like a stake had been driven through my heart watching the Nissan Skyline r32's dominate at Bathurst. Yet to this day I nothing but respect for what this car represented. "it was like taking a gun to a knife fight" Had group A remained would we have seen turbos bolted to both banks of Commodore and Falcon V8's ?
