Black Screen problem on my GoPro Hero 5 Black

On older gopros you can easily damage the screen cable by inserting the sd card incorrectly. you can fix this by replacing the screen, but it's not cost effective, it's easier to use it as is, or buy a new one. you can also try connecting your gopro to the app.

Mind the same with hero 6. Front screen is working well but blank on the back. After I recorded a video, I took out the sd card and put it in my tablet and the video was recorded. Means my hero 6 still working, only no display on the back screen.

Aconselho levar no técnico. Nem sempre é a tela queimada. Mas, um micro resistor que alimenta a tela. A minha teve esse problema. Comprei a tela e não era isso. O tec me mostrou o componente oxidado por entrada de umidade, por um pequeno rasgo na borracha do botão "on-off".

I think I got it figured out. 1. Open the battery cover 2. Slightly pull out the battery out and then push the mode button once 3. Push back the battery in and press the mode button again (once) Repeat the same few times. It worked for me for some weird reason and the GoPro is back to normal. Suggest - once u see it works normally rest the GoPro settings to factory settings from the menu. Hope it works. Cheers

Some times the batter is not giving power to circiuit 4a6 (which the screens connects to). This can be caused from a malfunction of the battery or the cable can be damaged by the sd card. Very rarely, if you have connected the gopro to the app via dodgy public wifi, the go pro will take any virus no matter what. If you connect your go pro to the app but there is an error code 3489 this means your camera is done for. For all these reasons, its not an easy fix. Would recommend getting help on this😊

Same thing on my Gopro 5 and sorry for my english im from germany and im 12 years old so my english is not perfect i heard that is a water damage but the Hero 5 is Waterproof i think you have to switch the display

Same thing happened to me. I put the sad card in wrong and the screen stopped working. I called GoPro and they sent me a new one.

Mine was working fine until I just downloaded the new firmware update on my go pro 5 black using the app. ? Can anyone from go pro sort this problem out as it was fine until I downloaded the new firmware from the app ??

Format your memory card use pc new update files download and save your memory card put gopro then power on. Coming update ( manually updating) tri this 👍

i had this issue like yesterday, to fix it i plugged the go pro into a usbc cable with no battery and once it turned on i was able to put the battery in and it stayed on and turns back on and off
