TIP! When taking off the lens for the first time it REALLY helps to PULL a bit before twisting. Twisting is hard without tractioning the lens away from the housing of the gopro. To put it back, make sure that it'd dead straight before trying to twisting, else it'll go on a bit tilted (one side closer to the gopro that the other) and PUSH you twist it back on.

I just purchased this from a pal who's a gadget collector. I must say that it's a cute little gadget for me (A Lady) and I hope to get good usage out of it. Thank you for your tips as a couple of them I used right away. The original battery gets warm so I am glad he included another USB to usb-c cord as well as 2 more batteries.

Thanks for sharing 👍 ❗ *Something* *VERY* *important* *for* *Tip* *4* ❗ *Turn* *voice* *control* *OFF* *if* *you* *are* *no* *longer* *using* *it* *or* *even* *just* *stopping* *for* *a* *short* *break* .❗ Leaving voice control on drains the battery quickly due to it being in constant listen mode. (similar to sleep function on a PC, it is ready for any input to wake it up.) I learned the hard way and drained a battery from 100% to 0% in less than 2 hours after leaving voice command on from earlier in the day. 😒

Thank you for this video. Seriously considering the GoPro6 at this time especially that the price has taken a cut this 2018. I've decided to pass on action cams for the past several years instead opted for an Olympus TG-830 a few years back for water activities where my old canon S95 and 2 other DSLRs dare not go. Recently just added a drone to add another dimension to our families photos and videos, but at his time I'm thinking of going down the Gopro path vs waiting for the G7xiii vs/+ getting a gimbal vs/+getting a mac book air (for final cut pro) --abandoning my Windows PC. hmmm... then ultimately later getting the sigma 18-35 then the 50-100. My head is still spinning at his point but im serious. Again thank you for this video.

I don’t have a lot of experience with underwater shots. One thing I can recommend if you don’t have one already is to pick up a red dive filter. Mix the colors a lot more vibrant. There is a few KZbin video showing the difference and it’s quite amazing

Fair use of force? This lens won't budge whatever force I use. So ridiculous to built things this hard. Completely absurb. Update : Manage to remove it with clockwise turn not counter clock. This video is not universal at all. Some gopro are different. Failed video.

Great tips, very useful. I want one! Three questions: 1) How easy is it for that rear touch screen to get scratched?; 2) what's this I hear about the 240 fps at 1080p being difficult to import and use because of some codec thing?; and 3) do these have a GPS chip to record locations?

Geoscience Imaging It's pretty difficult to scratch the rear LCD. 1080/240 uses HEVC which will soon be the standard as it's more efficient. You need Windows 10, Sierra for Mac (or newer), or can use a free program called handbrake if you have an older OS. The camera has built in GPS.

I've only just brought the 6. this video is very helpful thank you. I am having trouble editing video on my laptop. I am running Windows 8.1 but I get the message telling me I need windows 10. do I need to buy windows 10 before I can edit video?

Depending on what resolution you shoot at with your hero. When shooting in 4K especially the hero uses that HEVC format. This is a new were standard and unfortunately windows 8.1 does not support it. You can convert the file to a format that Windows 8.1 Can use. I do believe however if you bump down the resolution on the hero 6 it will record In a format that is compatible with 8.1

Thx Sir for the very practical tips & tricks, a question on using external microphones I have heard on other channels of the GoPro Hero 6's built-in mic is not of the greatest sound quality. I am considering purchasing an action Cam & this camera ticks all the boxes, is there other ways to record audio to video except removing the cover to access the USB Type C port? Can the bluetooth enable wireless connection for accessories? Cheers!

Unfortunately Bluetooth microphones won’t connect to the hero 5 or 6. Personally I find the audio not too bad… It definitely is not broadcast quality but not bad for a small little camera. I’ve vlogged with my hero and use the built-in microphone’s all the time… You may find the audio is quite acceptable

I wasn't able to install GoPro Quik Wininstaller 2.5.1 on my WINDOWS PC, it said to update to newer version, but I couldn't find other versions available on GoPro website or other GoPro software downloads with revised or later. My battery seems to get depleted after a very short period of recording on 4K 60fps videos of just a few minutes, my display was set at 10% brightness & to sleep after 3 minutes idol. Please tell me can timelapse recording be extended for longer periods of time made possible with charge from a power bank? Is it true Quik story can't edit 4K HEVC videos? Cheers.

It is not advising to update the Go Pro Quik program, rather Windows. Windows 10 is required. Windows 7 has been removed.

It can be tricky, the serial number is also printed on your box if you have kept it. Much easier to read. if not you could use a magnifying glass to enlarge it or try taking a photo of it and zooming in...might work.

Im using go pro hero 6 black but there’s no “wake on voice” in the settings,, please help

Arniel Navarro Turn on voice control (tap the icon in preferences). Then scroll down in your preference settings and turn on your wake to voice. With the camera on, give the command, "GoPro turn off". You will now be able to turn the camera on with voice for eight hours. To enable it again, you just need to turn the camera on manually and then off by voice and you'll be good for another eight hours. Your other settings will remain turned on.
