Hey guys... Any help here?? I plan to buy a gopro hero 8 for my motocross footage (helmit camera) and use my android phone for pics /small clips of the bike and wondered if its possible to merge the two sources of footage to produce a video that I can edit I.e trim, add music etc through the free gopro app for android phone? Also I'm 100% going to buy the book through amazon too so I can learn other useful tips but just wondered if what I mentioned above is touched on in the book?? Any feedback would be so much appreciated as I'm very new to video edits... Aidan.

I just got one as a gift today. Now I officially have my own Go-Pro. I must now familiarize myself with it, and get it all set up. So far, I got the Sim card out of it's SD card, I got the battery in, I learned how to turn it on, and now it's charging. I'm excited to see where this thing takes me!!! To my great friend Aaron!!! You don’t even need to turn the camera on to connect to the app (after the initial pairing). The Bluetooth stays on for 8 hours and waits for connections. Also you should have mentioned the voice controls. It’s really useful. Other than that, great video for beginners!

Mahalo for this. I know this is an old video but it still helps. I won a HERO8 and a big memory card at a work Christmas party in 2019. Finally got it out of the box for our first family vacation in a long time. I searched Hero8 start-up video and yours was the first suggestion. @@JJCastro Hello JJ Castro Welcome to GoPro World lol I started to use shocky to hold the camera. Other problem is the battery! To charge 2 batteries takes whole day and storage goes very quick full. Just bought bigger micro SD and am going to buy more batteries with battery charger. my storage on my computer is full now bc of GoPro videos. Bought an external hard drive to move the videos on it, but having the issue that my computer doesn't read the new hard drive. Trying to find if I do format my new external hard drive (A), will my computer storage (C) deleted? Have fun when You go through that stress lol I don't know about settings on the camera (no user manual). Wished to know how to zoom while recording? And a pause button would be nice, instead of stopping recording and starting new video record. It looks like that the camera is just created, just came to world.. Nothing is well and complete! It has many lacks and the cost is increasing! Hopefully it lasts long. Have fun with all the problems My Go Pro Friend. I stopped recording, having storage issue and battery charging which holds me back.... we need maybe 10 batteries lol, is the phone not better? Have strength with all the issues my friend take care!

I have the Hero 8. Question. In Video mode of "Standard 1080 I 60 I W... Im only getting 10 to 11 minutes of filming. Then it stops.... What mode for video do you like me to use that has great quality and runs till I hit the button to stop?

The camera should record until you press the button to stop recording no matter what. It does split the files after a certain amount of time, depending on the settings. Is that what you mean?

the led light stays red even though the batt is already fully charge. sucked but that what has not improve for gopros. but ur batteries should be charged in 2 hrs. or get yourself a gopro dual charger or 3rd party chargers. that way u can use ur gopro while charging other batteries. cheers!

Rule one: Get a job so you have money.... Oh, actually, Rule one: Be capable of getting a job... Oh actually, Rule one: be born!.... It gets messy going back further than that. I think the assumption is that you have one in the first place. But alas, respect.... I don't have the money for one unfortunately. But more unfortunately my girlfriend has a problem with her car which no mechanic can find the cause of, so she insisted I buy a camera for her to record her driving and capture the problem in real time.... So for me, Rule one,,, have an angry frustrated girlfriend who "immediately" needs to start recording something and only the latest gopro hero 8 will do.... Now i'll go hang my head in shame that this explanation is true enough for me to write here and not be lying... :(
