I really like Auto and 5000k in most of those shots. They both give a great pop to contrast without distorting the image too yellow or blue. Great comparison video!

This is a good comparison but if I can give you one suggestion for future videos you should also let us know what you think is the best setting, you can see what you're filming really looks like so what is the closest setting to reality that makes it look good?

You are actually showing me what a camera is all about. I've never ever used a camera in my entire life, yet I got myself a gopro hero 8, so I could do some fantasy videos with green screen, and I'm learning what iso is and the shutter speeds to the camera. However, it did take some time for me to fully start to understand what this is all about. Wow! I'm just still trying to wrap my head around all this new stuff to me. lol Wish me luck. Can you tell me what settings in my house, I should use. I have 5500 Kelvin, which seems to work. I have my shutter on 1/60, and my iso min 800 and my iso high is 1600 to bring out the natural light as much as possible at night in my house, with house lighting only. I'm hoping you can help me sharpen my understanding. I hope you can reply to this comment and let me know what I should do or what I'm doing wrong. I'm as green as grass on this ride. lol Thank you for the walk through, now I know what I'm supposed to see, or roughly to see. lol Thank you for your help for everyone on here as well xox

awesome, I would also love to see a underwater comparison. When I dive with GH7blk in auto mode it constantly changes and ruins footage. Native was not nice, so I would love to see how the gopro shows the different balances (without any filter obviously)

So basically native is similar to color flat and offers the best range for post editing? I'm fairly amateur with correcting but I find even editing white balance in post on the auto setting can still yield some good results

Hi Mitch ! Thanks a lot for your great Tips, you're the best ! ;-) I have 2 questions about diving, I'm a regular diver using an old Gopro H4 and I need to upgrade my material, now, perhaps with H8. As far I've understood, you cannot change your settings, incl. WB settings, under water when the H8 is a the diving-case. My 2 questions : 1. which are the best setting, on H8, for underwater movies and photos btw 0 and -30m (at time I use WB native, field wide/linear, 1080/60) ? with the H4 I can change all my settings while diving, but with H8 this is not possible. 2. So, is it possible to "save" my chosen settings on H8 (before diving when I put the H8 in the housing) so that if my H8 turns off during the dive, my chosen settings are not reseted when I turn it on again during my dive. Thanks for your help, my friend ! Best regards from France Didier

Hi. Thank you for this video! Very useful and clear. Maybe you can help me with one issue. I shot a video with a GoPro 8 using native white balance. My husband was wearing a red jacket (similar to the subscribe button), but the GoPro captured it as orange. I am struggling to find a way to correct that in premiere pro, but still I haven't found any good solution. If I change WB to Auto, the jacket is shown red, no matter if I set GoPro or Flat profile. Any ideas on how to fix this? THANK YOU!
