tophyt You left out the more important stats: 2.5G+ cornering grip and acceleration that will out-drag most supercars through the 1/8 mile and only stops there because of running out of gearing. I've driven a Ferrari 458 at COTA and a 2 stroke kart is hands down better.

I'm confused with the racing shifts do you still need the clutch or do you just shift?

In these race cars with paddle shifting, the clutch is only used when launching from 1st gear.

@@RacersUnited To add to this, in some applications the clutch is also used to shift when the engine is at low-ish RPMs, as the gears won't mesh together if they aren't turning fast enough, once you're near redline (as you would be in most racing scenarios) you can bang the gears all day long with no clutch needed
