Where is the "mount optimization" setting?

It is located in the export settings in the GoPro player program for PC or Mac. they have a free download for this program on GoPro.com - just google: "Download GoPro Player"

The Mount Optimization takes place on the computer when you are editing. Using the free program: GoPro Player when you export your 360 footage, you can check the box to use Mount Optimization. - Let me know if that answers your question
