There are specific mounting instructions for motorcycles specifically to only use one extension arm-length and the triangulation adapter. If anybody broke the boom arm let me know. I got the adhesive boom arm because I had already a suction cup mount so I could attach it to the boom arm. I had plans on putting it on outside my car but when I put the gopro 12 along with its cage , I put it mounted on my car rear window inside my car and Shot a couple of videos.All of a sudden I heard the thing falling off the window. I stopped and pulled over my car and I saw that the thing broke in 2 , just where the 2 tubes make junction . I went like * good thing I didn't put it outside my car , otherwise I would've have ended with a lost camera. I mean , 75 bucks for that thing. What do you think it was ? Did my gopro cage put extra weight in there? Did I assemble the tube backwards? Should I get this mount again and correct things that probably need more attention?
@TG_ShredsАй бұрын
Definitely a bummer to hear. I personally haven’t had any break or have heard anyone else breaking any boom arms. I would contact GoPro customer support if you haven’t already. They are going to ask if you were using the GoPro suction cup or a third party mount/ suction cup. For any suction cup to work properly, it is essential to have the cup clean and free of any dirt or debris. Even a spec of sand can ruin the suction. Suction cups also work best on smooth flat surfaces that also need to be pristine clean. I’m curious about the “cage” you are referring to? Can you let me know the brand and model of cage you are referring to? It’s super important to not let the camera (and cage) hang too dramatically in one direction without the support of another boom arm hence the triangulation adapter and having multiple points of contact. In the video I made, refer to the car mount and how I used multiple suction cups and multiple boom arms to mount with confidence.
@Bacon7666Ай бұрын
@@TG_Shreds thank you for your reply. I have the gopro brand suction cup. That one is intact. The boom adhesive arm is the one that broke in 2. I got the boom arm through B&H site because when I wanted to order through gopro site they said they had the item but I would have to pay (85) bucks for just shipping and handling , why that much for that item? I Idon't know but I grabbed it from B&H photo site. Luckly yes, i wll be able to get a full refund. They also asked my of I was looking to get the item replaced but i went like "nah, i need more info or research if there has been someone on this situation and maybe i just should wait until I study the whole thing then I can just order it again. The cage I am talking about is not a cage, but it looks like one. I think is the media mod where you have options to mount a light and a mic. Where you as well have 3 inputs on the back of the unit like charging cable, micro hdmi cable and audio jack. I also intended to add this mount for my next trip to the beach for body boarding but now I am really hesitant about it. lol.

Why would GoPro go to the trouble of making a baseball cap and not put a camera mount on it? The Chinese have been making them for years. GoPro creates some amazing stuff, but then every once in a while they fall inexplicably short on an idea.
@TG_ShredsАй бұрын
Valid point, but keep in mind the GoPro slogan: World‘s most versatile camera. I believe the ideology is: why make just a baseball hat mount, when you could make a clip that clips onto a baseball hat and also clips onto your backpack strap or a multitude of other places.

Good morning FPV brother, thank you for your amazing videos. I have some drones with the DJI O3 system but without your control, I have a TBS Crossfire Pro. Will I be able to connect them to something like the Hawkeye Captain Monitor? I thought UBS c to HDMI would work :)
@TG_ShredsАй бұрын
So TBS Crossfire is a control protocol and the DJI 03 system is a video transmitter sending digital video signal. After glancing quickly at the Hawkeye Captain Monitor you mentioned, it seems like the Hawkeye Captain Monitor can pick up on video signal both 5.8Ghz and 2.4 so In theory the monitor should work. I am not sure the video output possibility from the Hawkeye Captain Monitor but it looks like it provides RCA connection (Yellow White Red) I would assume if you used a TV or device that accepts RCA connection (Yellow White Red) then you should be able to get your FPV feed on said TV or device. I have not tested that hardware or configuration myself, but it makes sense in theory. Let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions

Hello, I recently completed 200 jumps and I'm wondering what camera to get and where to mount it. I need to get my face in instead of just the horizon, so would you suggest getting two cameras or how to set them up? Please help
@TG_Shreds4 ай бұрын
congrats on 200 jumps! I would suggest considering a GoPro Max (360 camera) it would enable you to film in every direction allowing you to reframe the shot afterwards to achieve any camera angle like looking back at your face along with out in front of you looking at the horizon. You can re-frame the shot as many times as you like using whatever angle you like. It makes for ultimate flexibility eliminating the need to get the camera mounted specifically for one camera angle. I would suggest looking into PEG mounts linked in the description to help get the camera out in front of your helmet if you are wanting to capture your face. You could also get two cameras (one forward and one backward) but then you are a little more limited to what the cameras will capture. Some people like this, some people do not. Hopefully this helps answer your question. Please don't hesitate to be more specific and let me know if you have any more detailed follow up questions

Will the Media Mod protect the GoPro for mountain biking or best to ride without?
@TG_Shreds5 ай бұрын
When you use the word ‘protect’ in your answer, I have to reply saying it won’t protect it at all… I would say that you can use it for mountain biking, but it won’t offer any protection. That being said, if you use it, it will give you the features I mention and still slow you to record quality audio. If you do use it for MTB, I would be sure to use the removable foam wind buff for the microphone.

@TG_Shreds5 ай бұрын
I don't think this mount is that secure. In my opinion, I think the head strap mount would be pretty easy to steal off someone's head. I would suggest mounting the camera to a helmet that is secured to your head, then using an adhesive mount and quick release buckle system. This is a much more secure mounting option when it comes to thieves.

Great video, I'm going through this mounting dilemma now. Snag risk is a big concern, not to mention the huge load on the mount support, specially if you have a hard opening (risk of losing the camera). Another issue is that I often switch from wingsuit to freeflying. Not sure how the mount will handle the strong vertical winds.
@TG_Shreds6 ай бұрын
I have taken this helmet and mounting set up free flying with no issue as long as the thumb screws and bolts are secure. I like this helmet specifically because of the ejecting chinstrap safety precaution for snag hazards. It is always a risk and has to be taken very seriously. Always practice your emergency procedures.
