You can see the two outside girders of the midspan closure section, sitting there on the US side waiting to be installed next!
@MotorCityAerial4 ай бұрын
Yup, looks like they installed them during the night today, Friday. I'm going to go there this weekend to get some video of them installed. Thanks for watching.

How are the bridge tensioning cables done and adjusted to specs? Show a video, thank you. Congratulations on such bridge constructios.

I'm not too sure how all that works. I think I might be too late to get video of the tensioning. Thanks for watching.

Going to be near 100 next week. Too hot to install the final section. It has already been cut to fit and is just sitting there. The expansion properties of the steel dictate what temperature needs to be the day it's fitted.

The bridge deck's have been aligned and the 2 final outer beams are on the American side to be placed, once everything is triple checked. Once the outer beams are place, the bridge deck will be ready to finish and remove the cranes. A very, very big day is on the horizon.
@thinkbeforyouvote5 ай бұрын
Not the same place. I'm sure you have seen a bridge before? Not funny. Two were needed. The Windsor Corridor is the most important Trade Crossing between the United States and Canada. More than one-third of all U.S. Canadian Trade crosses between Detroit and Windsor, with more than 20 percent crossing the Ambassador Bridge. This new bridge will increase that flow even more. Truckers will be thrilled. Coiffures will be filled. Russians will be sad.

Did they raise the US side or lower the Canada side to level the two sides which were clearly not at same level last week
@thinkbeforyouvote5 ай бұрын
The answer is both happened.

Temperature will make it vary too, I did not see too many in bridge, how do cables adjust to temperature?
@BasementEngineer5 ай бұрын
@@markuskonway They ignore it. Well sometimes they do not pay enough attention to this detail. Look up Nipigon Bridge for blunders that made my hair curl. Fortunately for this bridge design temperature changes are accommodated by change in the bridge's longitudinal curvature. The amount of this depends on the stresses in the stay cables and the bridge deck longitudinal beams.
