It's pretty incredible to see Gordon going in for these families. Can you imagine being in that situation? Wanting to get out and live your life, but not wanting to leave your parents in financial ruin? Wanting your kids to live happy and successful lives but being dependent upon them thus feeling like a failure? This family was stuck in a viscous cycle. Gordon is a catalyst for change. A man of the people no doubt.

I actually lived there (Monrovia, CA) when this episode was going on. The restaurant ended up closing down AFTER the renovations a few years later, food still seemed shitty, although it improved after Gordon Ramsey helped.
