@Just think if we're going to be honest, billionaires are responsible for most of the harm being done to the environment for the pure sake of acquiring more assets. Money. However, fossil fuels are not infinitely sustainable, hence the term "fossil fuels". Fact is, you're still getting plenty of performance when it comes to hybrid and electric vehicles albeit at the cost of the environment, still! You ever heard the expression, "There is no replacement for displacement"? Well, the idea overall hardly seems to stray off from high performing vehicles these days.
@BleedForTheWorld3 жыл бұрын
@Just think you really think that fossil fuels are sustainable or am I invoking a false dichotomy on my part? It either is or isn't. You just described the very energy source of all planets in the universe that are capable of inhabiting life as we know it which is the sun. The same can hardly be said about fossil fuels as we know it. I could explain how billionaires are harming the environment but I suspect that you would just as easily deny evidence as you have with climate change.
@BleedForTheWorld3 жыл бұрын
@Just think I mean, you don't think there's anything wrong with billionaires owning huge plots of land in order to derofest entire ecosystems. Our planet is quite fragile, you know. Well, it's ecosystems. I'm just going to tell you this: if you don't believe in climate change, you will when millions will begin to evacuate and leave the global south in order to find a better place to live in the global north. That's us, in the global north. You will hear it and you will see it with your own eyes as immigrants start flourishing communities. But I haven't disagreed with you on cars and autos being developed with hybrid/electric architecture, no. That's something I call green capitalism - same bird; different color.
@BleedForTheWorld3 жыл бұрын
@Just think but I brought up an issue about billionaires and you didn't address it at all. You simply keep denying anything that has to do with climate change being done by humans is perhaps of no concern to humans themselves. Doesn't that sound ironic? In any case, what I told you about immigrants is absolutely true, partly because we've already seen what destabilization of entire countries could bring to others. Here's another fun fact: It's actually too late to reverse climate change.

Its so refreshing to hear genuine questions from someone who understands them properly being replied to concisely and enthusiastically by the man who made it happen. I imagine other designers sit around asking how large the entertainment screen can be and can they get rid of any more buttons. I hope if one ever turned up at GMA they would be sacked immediately. I especialy liked the bit at the end "I'm still waiting for my invite". The fact Gordon replied immediately with "you'll get one" was great to hear. I think he's trying not to make the mistake TVR have done. The overheads are so large these days unless he goes in partnership with one of the big manufacturers it's unfeasible to produce a car for that. Shame really but it's reality now.
@BruceLeedar3 жыл бұрын
Murray has designed extremely cheap cars, but as a small manufacturer it isn't financially feasible to build cheap cars. In theory a big manufacturer could hire him to design something, but there are still all sorts of reasons why this isn't going to happen.
@Forndrome3 жыл бұрын
I imagine he considers affordable light sportscars kind of a solved puzzle. Just look at Harry's recent review of the Elan Sprint, which Murray also adores; it's a 4 cylinder car from the 60s yet it's pretty much perfect in terms of handling, transmission and weight/dimensions. The modern re-interpretation of that would probably just be a Lotus Elise or a modified Miata.
@anandmorris3 жыл бұрын
You say that, but there is a whole world of issues when designing an everyday car. I studied automotive design, and family/small cars could be designed for a specific group, but it also had to cater for everyone and be accessible for everyone. The problem with that is design gets watered down and because of overhead costs, you just end up using off the shelf cheap plastic chinese made shit. So although it could be branded GMA, it wouldn't be Gordon's actual design. A bit like the time that bimbo victoria beckham claimed she designed a range rover.

i like how Mr. Murray isn't really selling or marketing this car as he should, it's probably just because he doesn't need to, they are probably all sold anyway. Marvelous design and a future classic with a supercar heart , a proper v12.

The level of thought and attention to detail in all that Gordon develops, is nothing short of MIND BLOWING! It's like he's tapped into some sort of alien tech. Everything is on another plateau... EDIT: and thank you, Harry, for all your efforts in bringing this to us!

I love this and T50, so clean and well thought through. I'd love the future to include more attainable cars which I think is possible if these sell and generate the cash flow. Well done for a fantastic walk round and interview.

Looks like little brother, T33 is better looking than big brother, T50. A "return to beauty" is exactly what Gordon has achieved; referencing some of the best from the 60s and the 70s; clean lines and pure elegance. All this, and matched to the best V12 ever is motoring heaven.

I'm a tough critic, but I'm always blown away not only by Harry's videos, but by GM, his designs, and his knowledge. The way these two speak the same design and engineering language is marvelous, and I hope GM understands that Harry does just about as much justice for his products as a KZbin video could. Wonderful car, the world needed another Gordon Murray design, and he delivered.

Wow- I’ve always been a fan of sixties cars and the t33 catches the essence of some of the greats whilst using state of the art technology. I love Gordon’s philosophy of small physical size and simple beautiful forms that are totally functional. (I am a semi retired Industrial designer with similar ideas for how products should be conceived) It’s almost like a modern Muira blended with the usability of a 911. Price of the T33 is still eye watering though- guess the Alpine is the nearest most of us could aspire to 😂
