they are because the restaurant need to be assessed in their services and food. So the owners can get an idea on what to improve. normal customers might not complain as much. They just choose to never return if they don't like it.

i mean....to be fair- 6-10 people all ordering completely different dishes, being cooked from “scratch” (and the customers keep sending food back) would put the kitchen in the weeds. most definitely. the average time for people to actually sit down and eat is about 30-45 minutes. depending on how many courses they eat also. just a thought haha 😂

Whilst the guy was almost certainly trying to cover his arse, it wouldn't surprise me if there's an element of truth to what he says. Most of his customers are probably retirement age British expats who have grown up eating bland, overcooked shite. Being British myself, I can confidently say that the overwhelming majority of Brits over the age of 40 or so don't have a fucking clue what good food should taste like. Younger generations are better though - more of them appreciate actual flavour and food that is cooked properly rather than incinerated.

And yet, the world is chalk full of professional and amateur chefs alike who would give almost anything to cook for Chef Gordon Ramsey, feeling tremendous pride to have had the honor, and feeling incredibly humbled to receive his opinion and criticisms. After all, he is a wildly successful chef in possession of Michelin stars and restaurants all over the world... then there's the media empire he's been building along the way. Ok I have been a huge hugeee fan of Ramsay since forever. And i admire him even more after kitchen nightmares and hotel hell. He has dealt with some absolutely crazy egotistical people in those shows. I feel most people who judge him for being so hot tempered wouldn't ever be able to deal with some of the arrogant people he has dealt with. The only reason he gets angry is when people try to fool him with sub par food saying it's exquisite.
