Pxndx Lunx I work in a fine dining restaurant and every month or two the inspectors come in, however they never have a problem with the kitchen or labeling. They did shut down our dishwasher in the middle of service because it was 1 degree off of what it should be. Still boggles my mind how health inspectors don’t catch this shit.

I've seen restaurants with C ratings continue to run for years. Just barely getting by or bumping themselves up to a B every now and then just so they don't get closed down. It's likely they do get paid off though, I've seen that too.

Depends on the Health Inspector. In this case, most likely being paid off or doesn’t really care. In some cases, fresh Health Inspectors that just got hired are much more critical of these restaurants and are less likely to be paid off since they don’t have that complacency yet

I mean, if you can't be bothered to have enough respect for other people to keep a public kitchen clean then it's likely you don't give a damn about your own kitchen to keep it clean. My second cousin owned two restaurants and managed to retire by selling both. I once asked him how he kept things clean after seeing shows like this. He claimed that getting staff to clean up could be hard, but his solution was boxes of disposable gloves. Nobody wants to touch grease traps and other hot spots. Nobody wants to wear rubber gloves after one another. He swore that adding a couple boxes of gloves to the monthly budget got his employees to put in the effort. That said, I doubt either of my cousin's restaurants were ever remotely this bad!

If you have a store owner that is clueless the whole system collapses & then the workers have to take more responsibility then they should. After 10 years I called it quits & found another job.
