I'm guessing you're either from a city or from the north, cuz I've seen this stuff sold EXCLUSIVELY at the State Fair. I would never eat it, you couldn't pay me $1B to make me do it, but it definitely exists. I will say I haven't been to a State Fair in awhile though, so health laws in my state might have banned it since I was like... idk maybe 7-8? I'm an adult now, early 20's, so it's been awhile lol

15:50 no we don't do that. We fry a LOT of things, but butter isn't commonly one. It's a gimmick like fried water. Trust me, I'm a southerner, we fry everything. Stuff we do fry that you might find interesting: green tomatoes squash (their flowers are also good fried) cornbread batter (they're called hush puppies) oreos (more common at fairs/festivals) pretty much any vegetable tbh
