I have a 6 year old Gordon Setter.His name is Crombie.He is an extension of my very soul.He is my fourth Gordon Setter and I could not imagine my existence without living with this glorious breed.I love and adore him,as I have all the others that have enlightened my life.

My father who trained setters and pointers for field tests recons that the gordon setter has a personality of a English setter and rottweiler combined. We have a young gordon and she is very stubborn, she also has the prey drive and friendliness of the English setter. His theory is they bred in the rottweiler for the stamina size and the coloring to define gordon setters from English setters. Laverack and LLewelin setters were different strains of English setters ,gordon setters were setters of similar dogs at the same period in history,
