Unfortunately restaurants that use generous coupons attract the elderly, which then becomes your primary customer base. To make up for the lack of profits, food quality goes down which then affects any new customers experience. Its a black hole. I've seen too many restaurants suffer or close because of this tactic. Short term coupons are fine to attract new customers, but if used as a crutch to keep the doors open, you're just prolonging the inevitable.

I think the implication is that the chef doesn't taste his food. It's the equivalent of deaf people playing musical instruments. Some people really have a bad idea of Gordon Ramsey because of how he speaks and even say he is disrespectfull, but the way we says things when meeting with the staff like "we are sinking, we have this problem and that problem" i mean, he puts himself as if he works there and not going off like "YOU have this problem, YOU are sinking" he actually takes responsability over something he has not caused and makes it his own to actually help them out
