While I agree with you, I think you’re reading waaaaaayyy toooo much into it. Gorgasm is not the only death metal band that used misogynistic imagery/ lyrical themes. It’s been a major trope of the genre since Cannibal Corpse pioneered it in the late 1980s. It’s part of the art and I seriously doubt it’s doing any real world harm.

Metal has always been about shock value and people in the slam or brutal death metal scene don't take it seriously anyways. How could you? I mean check the Cannibal Corpse or Dying Fetus lyrics. Does anyone know of a band that sounds just like them but doesn't have any songs that have any misogynistic or rape content? I would love to have an album that sounds just like Masticate to Dominate, but doesn't have any songs with rape or misogyny in the lyrical content. Sadly, when I've tried to get help for a misogyny free substitute, most people mock me and hurt me online. Either that, or they just suggest BDM bands everyone already knows about (Suffocation, Disavowed, Deeds of Flesh, Defeated Sanity, etc.), or bands in other genres (usually tech-death).

I'd imagine that if you had a close friend or relative, it would really rub you the wrong way to read such content from the bands. I'm not trying to tell you what you can or can't listen to in any way, or try to get any bands canceled; I'm 100% for freedom of expression. But if you write predominantly rape/misogyny based lyrics, you're going to get called out on it. Even some fans of brutal death metal are going to be alienated by it, especially if they have close friends or relatives who happen to be victims of rape. If any members of the bands with rape and misogyny based content had someone personally who became a victim, I wonder if they'd move away from writing such lyrics. Who would be some brutal death metal bands you can suggest that don't have rape or misogyny based lyrics? Please don't post any of the following: - Bands that are more technical death metal than brutal death metal (Origin, Nile, Abnormality, etc.) - Bands everyone in the brutal death metal scene already knows about (Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Defeated Sanity, Disavowed, Wormed, Deeds of Flesh, etc.) P.S.
