Just a quick thank you! I’ve been battling a severe lack of motivation despite having a huge desire to create for months now. I’ve watched thousands of videos, and although I’ve found loads inspiring, yours actually prodded me to action. I now have trays of tea-stained stencil layered pages, scrunched inky & tea-stained pages & a mix of tea-soaked/stencil & Brusho sprinkled pages sitting in the wintry but still kind of warm dappled sun waiting to dry. It only took me an hour but I feel so good to have created. Let’s hope they turn out as pretty as yours. I used a much heavier paper for scrunching as my copier paper tore too easily when I swished it in its tea, so I’ll be interested to see how they turn out.

@@TheresaH.CreatesI’ve bought a paper that’s slightly thicker than normal copier paper but is a high quality paper so will hopefully be a bit more sturdy in the tea. Unfortunately, the walnut ink based sprays didn’t work - the ink seems to dissolve in the tea, & the mica powders didn’t really stick either, so I’m going to try again in the morning with Distress Ink sprays. I really like the colouring you get in the wrinkles, so will not be giving up. I do have some pretty colourful papers, but not the magic effect you get….yet! 😁

Girl, STOP!!! Hello! First, I laughed to myself when you talked about drying time - it's late July and I just relocated from the southern California desert where, at least at this time of year, things would dry in ten minutes, to the Midwest and I'm ALREADY impatient waiting for things to dry. I'm UBER impressed here! Not that I'm that good at tea dying (actually, I'm a coffee gal myself), but rather that I've been doing it for a hot minute and thought I'd pretty much seen it all. Dying paper is my happy place, and now, NOW!! L👀K at all you've shown me! I love your papers and color combos - I think the browns and greens are my faves! And tell me - do you like ironing paper as much as me? Looks like you might! One of those "oddly satisfying" things, at least for me. It's still early in the morning as I type this and I have lots to do today, but I'm gonna get started so I can have time later to reward myself with paper play!! Great video, love how they turned out!!! 💜💜💜 I have tried different methods, never had much luck with tea, so mostly use coffee, but have a few colors in the Distress sprays, so wanna give this a try. I like to lay them on my wrought iron outdoor furniture, 2 or 3 pieces on top of each other and they pick up the design of the table to different degrees. Same things happen using food coloring or fabric dyes. I'll do a few pages on top of each other and then lay a stencil on top, spray a little additional coffee over the stencil and I get a pretty dark design on the paper from the stencil, again, works with dyes/food coloring mixed with water, oh and Kool-aid works as well. I have aluminum trays with holes, normal people use for the grill 😂🤣😂 so they add polka dots to the paper. I've done the crumpled pages like you, but just lay them in the grass to dry, sometime will open and re-crumple then dip in another color. When they're about dry I open them and hang them on the clothes line, mhm, people driving by the wonder about me, I'm sure, lol. It's all fun and exciting to see what you come up with, I just love dying papers, now I need to start using them, as I've gotten carried away, same with eco dying, but just can't help myself, especially when the weather outside cooperates, I'm in Northwest Indiana. I found the best deals on plastic tablecloth/runners/doilies are at garage/estate sales, resale shops, and occasionally on Facebook Marketplace, but they are far and few between for sure, and yep, both Ebay and Amazon are too pricey for me. I skimmed through the other comments, so hope I didn't do a lot of repeat suggestions, and this is the first video of yours I've come across, so maybe some of these have already been covered, but gonna browse your channel now. You have a new subscriber. I commented above while I was watching earlier doing laundry. Now I’m peeling potatoes 😂I have not used any inks before. Other than coffe and teas and rust I have tried mashing up some old grapes and boiling them down. Beautiful color. I have some avocados frozen I will try one day but have a whole cart of sprays. Yours came out beautiful and I have never seen anyone crumple up the paper. I press mine between heavy books that I’m already using to press and dry flowers and I do the same with my ecodying. The plastic mats do work good and they are pricey.did. It know they made runners but as I am peeling these potatoes I was thinking that like this sack I have a whole bag of sacks that would probably work great for this. A lot have a little bit of plastic to them but between potatoes and lemons and onions and oranges and avocados and so on they are all different and free and onion skins give amazing color for dying. My produce clerks love when I clean up their onion skins

Our paper in New Zealand (80 gm copy paper) is too rubbish to get them this wet, they fall to pieces. I sprinkle a few instant coffee crystals on them and spray water on it, or dip the edges in fluid or distress spray the edges, or "spill" some coffee/whatever on the draining tray and quickly touch the paper to it. Saves on drying time too, it you use less water.😊 Thanks for the video, inspiring!!!🥰🥰🥰

I love this. Thank you for showing the method. I have done something similar with just coffee dyeing on my picnic table outside. I didn't use a cover and some of the sheets came out with a wood print. I used stencils and also leaves between pages. I may be looking through my stash for table runners. I'm wondering if regular cotton doilies would work or even cloth or acrylic lace table cloths. I think this is in my future to be trying. Thank you again for sharing.
