That is our Genki! 💖🦍A true Japanese Snow Gorilla - "She ain't afraid of no little snowfall" - but little tuff guy Kini was very upset, on the other hand, screaming his lungs out (as can be heard between approx. 0:57 to about 1:40). I actually think both Genki and Momo' was a bit "cheer upped" about their 'newly painted' outdoor area! Meanwhile Big bro Gentaro tried his best to not touch the 'ice-flood lava floor' on his way back to inside room, going👣bipedal!!!😁Very funny! Thanks @GL🦍Hope you can get something hot to drink, I would go for an Irish Coffee or a Lumumba (also known as Tote Tante [dead aunt]).

Wow! Genki mitten in den verschneiten Büschen essen zu sehen, lässt mich stark frieren. 🥶 Aber sie muss sich wie im Himmel fühlen, der Schnee sieht wie Wolken ☁️ aus. Gute Genki, unsere Eislady. 🦍🥶😍🤭☺️ Das sieht wunderschön aus, wenn alles zentimeterdick verschneit ist❣️😍 Momotaro beobachtet alles ungläubig, es ist ihm nicht ganz geheuer, obwohl er ein paar Schritte nach Draußen wagt. Gentaro bleibt lieber in der offenen Tür des Schutzraumes sitzen. Er mag wohl nicht so viel Schnee, oder gar keinen? 🤭 Kinny war kurz draußen und ist auch hochgeklettert. Plötzlich hören wir ihn laut schreien! Der viele Schnee ringsum macht ihm sicher Angst, außerdem ist er eiskalt an seinen Händen und Füßen. 🥶🐒 Ihr solltet im Warmen bleiben, damit ihr euch nicht erkältet. Auch du Genki, rein mit dir! Aber Genki läuft weiter rum und sucht nach Futter. 🦍🥬🤭 Vielen Dank *GL* daß du sogar ums Haus gelaufen bist und uns alles gezeigt hast. Man bekommt das sonst nicht so zu sehen. Und wie der gefrorene Schnee unter deinen Füssen bei jedem Schritt schwer geknirscht hat, wow! Muß schwer zu gehen gewesen sein, so mit Schmerzen in den Beinen und im festgefrorenen Schnee!? 🥶😯🤕 Dieses tolle Video ist eine schöne Erinnerung für uns alle, vielleicht ein einmaliges Erlebnis, mit dem ganzen Schnee am Gorilla Haus! ❄️☃️🌬️🌨️☺️💚🍀🕊️

@GorillaLife, thank you for braving the snow, cold and wind, so that we can see the Momotaro family. The zoo looked peaceful and beautiful covered in snow. I'm not surprised Genki spent a lot of time outside, she probably needed a break from the others. Momotaro seemed to stay near the entrance. Would have liked to see Gentaro and Kintaro playing outside more, as they probably haven't seen snow too often.

The males would rather partially starve than be uncomfortable. Genki does what she needs to do to survive and especially to feed herself 🦍 I respect it ❤🥦🥕🥬 Genki seems like she would have done very well in the wild. Momotaro's dislike of the weather would have him miserable living out in nature 😂 He's so funny: "I don't want to get my fur wet while I'm having a good fur day..and yes, good fur day happens every day"

雪の量はたいしたことないんです。路面がとにかくすべる。タイヤが横にずれる。 4度はこけました。 途中から意地になってました。 朝、他に自転車はいませんでした。車もいませんでした。バスと一部のトラックが走ってました。 大通りは大丈夫だと考えてたのですが、そうでもなかったです。 学校も休みだったのか、通勤してる生徒もいませんでした。 もう間に合わないかなぁ～と思いつつも、動物園に着くと、ギリギリ間に合いました。 台風でも動物園が休園と言わない限りは僕は行きます。

A,ellos les llama la atención, el blanco de la nieve.Aunque nieve,no hace tanto frío como cuando les cae el agua de arriba,por eso Genki se cubre la cabeza con las manos.Pero vaya Nevada en Japón. While a little time in the cold and snow shouldn't bother the gorillas, I was more concerned about the macaws screeching-their respiratory systems aren't built for taking in cold air. They are purely tropical species. Still cool seeing the troop in the white stuff. Kintaro wasn't too pleased though lol.

I agree. But Gorillas are not meant for cold weather. Their feet and digits are exposed. It a shame that they do not have enough space to keep yhem indoors for cleaning and maintenance time. It seems unethical for all those animals

Yes, we have four seasons. Winter, spring, summer and autumn. During the summer season, the temperature is around 38 degree celcius and the humidity rate is 90 %.
