Gorilla Grandma Biddy vs. Shufai in Twycross Zoo Standoff

*Gorilla Shufai's playful antics, annoying his grandmother Biddy, are observed. Despite Biddy's attempts to defend herself, Shufai persists, even stealing her food. Will the silverback intervene? *
Back to Twycross today. Gorilla Shufai pulled all the woodwool down from the platform, that's why there is all those partials flying around. He obviously found something to eat in there. Normally a bit of hay which gets mixed into it accidently. He gets up quickly to annoy Grandma Biddy (50). Since his brother Lope left, he's looking for an outlet of all his energy. Filmed during the day at different times, Shufai really annoys his grandma, but she's no push over. He runs and pushes the hammock into Biddy. You can't really see it as it's behind the pole. In the next clip Shufai's clumsy dismount from the rope, falling to the ground. Biddy gets some wood wool together, as she moves to the left, you can see her side eye , keeping a close eye on Shufai. In the next clip Biddy sits on the back wall when Shufai comes swinging again, but this time Biddy was prepared and swings for him herself. As Biddy retreats, Shufai tries one more time to slap Biddy, but Biddy runs after through the back. Shufai comes back out of the other side, sitting by the log. I moved a little and Biddy suddenly comes charging, sliding on the floor making Shufai go outside. As she moves off, Shufai comes back in sits on the pole.
Next Shufai is swinging up top, Biddy wanting to grab the strap, but Shufai quickly came down. Oumbi is aware of what is going on and is keeping a close eye.
Shufai grabs Biddy, reaching down from the platform. Ozala comes inside, having a look what is going on. Shufai doesn't want to stop annoying his grandma. Ozala looking at her from the back. Ozala always takes her son's site over her mother Biddy. She did charge Biddy earlier (not recorded) because Biddy was just trying to defend herself. Oumbi is still just looking and chewing his food. The old lady charges after Shufai, who was trying to steal her food. Right after Ozala gave Biddy that look, Biddy looks towards the silverback and I can just imagine what she's thinking " get that lazy bum of the ground and do something about your unruly son" Well it kind of worked, he got up but was just looking at everyone. Shufai wasn't deterred and pushed Biddy again. Poor grandma Biddy she doesn't get any rest. I don't know if these antics are keeping her young, but she surely must hurt afterwards all that moving with her arthritis. She finally gets her bed together and pushes it in the corner, but Shufai is already up there again.
A bit later there is a commotion in the back Shufai being chased by Biddy. Finally Oumbi has enough and charges after Shufai, disappearing in the back room.

I am glad Oumbi finally got onto Shufai for bothering his grandmother. Further confirmation that Shufai should have moved with Lope . 😢 Biddy is still feisty . I hope it's not bothering her arthritis too bad. I know how painful arthritis can be that's for sure. Have a great day Slogger Vlogger. 😊❤

Depends how often he does it and if Buddy is bothered by it. Good Oumbi is putting a stop to it. Shufai still looks like a kid, maybe missing someone to play with.

Awe poor Biddy. I've noticed the Silverbacks don't normally get involved unless there's actual screaming or a fight between females (which is noisy). I think the noise prompts them to move.

Poor Sweet Biddy. Sometimes you just aren't in the mood. Shufai wants a playmate. Shocked Dad just watches and doesn't chill out Shufai. I'm just glad Biddy wasn't attacked from her Daughter or Oumbie. ( Granny can still move fast when she needs to! Love her! )

He definitely is at a loose end since his sparring partner is gone. He used to wrestling and ‘who can get the last tip in ‘ game! 😂Its all fun and games until Oumbi gives the rascally rascal the once over! His expression omg. 😂 he had that ‘right then!’ ‘ that’s it’ look in his run after Shufai. 😂 Sorry Shufai but you had this one coming! 😂.

What is the deal with Ozala and Biddy!?! It’s disheartening to see Biddy Boo being tormented by her grandson and her daughter and son-in-law doing absolutely nothing to stop it! I did feel somewhat better at the very end when Oumbi finally did something about it but sheesh…what took him so long?❤

To: @rebeccapaterson422 - Ha. ha! I was just about to comment on Asante, as she is sat on the platform above Oumbi but hidden mostly by the posts. Her right arm is visible pulling on a hose. At the end there are brief flashes of her moving backwards and forwards as she surveys the 'fun and games' below. She particularly scrambles to get a better look as Oumbi chases Shufai in to the back.
