Happy Birthday Gorilla Biddy

Today a compilation of Gorilla Biddy to celebrate her Birthday. She is about 49 years old. Biddy is from the Twycross zoo in England and was born in December 1973. As she was born in the wild the exact date of her Birthday is unknown, but Twycross Zoo has pencilled in her Birthday for the 19th of December.
We all love Biddy, the heart of the Twycross Zoo gorilla family. She keeps everyone together.
Biddy is Ozala's Mum there are no records of siblings or parents. Her offspring are Mambie and Ozala.
In this compilation some different clips of her.
The first clip is from October. She looks out of the window where they scatter the food. As she turns around Shufai comes up, hands in the air and surprisingly Biddy has a go at him. Shufai looked all surprised not sure where that reaction came from. Shufai looks is tired but when you look at his eyes his closed while he's standing there in front of grandma. Shufai's brother Lope doesn't help when he pushes Biddy while running past her while she's scratching her head.
In the next clip, well we know she does like Oumbi the silverback. Always looking at him and mating with him. Inside with her drooping lip ( quite common in older gorillas) back outside munching on a bean. Shufai in the back, by the flap.
Inside, she's watching me, her reflection in the camera. Outside another push from her older grandson Lope.
The following clip from 2019. The brothers are chasing each other and Biddy sits in the doorway. Shufai stops and tries to play with grandma. Biting her arm, grabbing her foot and biting it as well.
She's back in front of the window looking at her reflection. Outside enjoying some food before she tries to move the flap from the door that got a bit stuck and she is careful not to encounter the two boys behind it.
Lying in the grass she has something stuck between her teeth that she's trying to get out and having a little snooze. Her green tongue from all that grass she ate before. Scratching her eyebrow and then she moves into a different position resting her head on her arms.
Silverback Oumbi sits down looking at Biddy. Back inside she's lying on the floor, all curled up.
When we had the heatwave, all the grass dried up outside. Biddy dragged some woodwool with her feet. Her grandson Lope standing by the window looking in. When the grass turned green again, Biddy was busy dragging the big tree branch inside.
Watch that side look watching Oumbi eat his pellets.
Another snooze on the woodwool.
Clips were filmed at different times. I would love to bring you more from Biddy, but as she gets older she stays inside and in the back most of the time. These were most of the clips I had left. If I'm able to get other bits and bobs of her I will do another compilation.

Beautiful, feisty Biddy, always flirting with Oumbi and wrestling with her grandkids. She is such a character.
